Daniel Guzman reports that Bagelville, where the Arby's used to be on VFW Parkway inbound, just past the McDonald's, is open for its last day today.

Maybe Arby's will come back. America's Roast Beef, Yes Sir!

Am I the only one who got the jingle from that SNL Justin Timberlake skit in their head when they drove by that place?

That's a shame. They had excellent bagels, but simply not enough customers.
Bagelville has a location just as you walk into Quincy Market. I wonder if that location is sticking around?

Exodus Bagels:
What do people think? I'm always impressed with their long line at the farmers market but haven't yet found the time to actually wait in said line to try them out.
Sort of like with burritos, I like bagels at an amateur level where I don't get too insane about how the bagels/burritos from [NY/Montreal/CA, etc... ] are immeasurably better and the local bagels/burritos are essentially garbage.

I didn't like Bagelville bagels, I found them to be like the Wonder Bread of bagels, so one trip was enough for me. Bruegger's bagels are good enough for me, although if we were closer to Newton Centre, I'd be headed to Rosenfeld's every Sunday instead.
No opinion on Exodus - like you, I just don't want to stand in a long line.
Unfortunately they are also

Unfortunately they are also pretty slow service wise and then there is the matter of after waiting 40 minutes you finally make it and they are sold out.
The bagel was very good though....I am just not sure I could ever justify paying $10 for a veggie bagel sandwich again. Far to expensive for most people.
Not to mention

They're exorbitantly expensive. $8 for a breakfast sandwich is more than most are willing to pay. I think a bagel with cream cheese is around $5. Luckily there's Levend Bagelry nearby in the Boston Public Market which has much more reasonable prices (and bakes everything on the spot).

I am sorry to hear they couldn't make a go of it, as I never got to try them. How'd did the bagel compare to the late great Moe Eagerman's? Or Kupel's?
No comparison

Eagerman's (where we used to go, under Moe's ever watchful scowl) and Kupel's were/are real bagels. Bagelville, well, they were OK for the tourists at Quincy Market.
