Campaign roundup: No, Walsh has not endorsed Passacantilli

Word in from the Walsh campaign: Hizzona has not endorsed Stephen Passacantilli in the District 1 (East Boston, Charlestown, North End) council race, no matter how many cards saying he has are floating around East Boston. The Walsh campaign forwarded this interchange at WGBH from last night:
He was asked last night..."District one...did you announce your support for any candidate?" The mayor replied,"No, I haven't."
At least whoever printed the cards up didn't stick Walsh's signature on it.
Speaking of WGBH, looks like, as he did during the Olympics debacle, Walsh has a problem with some of his supporters throwing their obnoxious weight around. The Globe reports Jackson didn't knock Walsh into the ropes at the debate. Also see the Herald account.

The Herald joined the Globe in endorsing Walsh, says he's had "a darned good four years" (but needs to do more on schools), accuses Jackson of "flailing about for issues" and picking bad ones, such as dismantling the BRA and returning to an elected school committee.
During the debate, Jackson called for dashcams in BPD cruisers, a technology he said was so old and proven it was featured 20 years ago on the now-canceled Cops series. Only it turns out Cops is still around:

In District 7 (Roxbury), Rufus Faulk has been endorsed by five of the twelve people he ran against (one of the remaining seven being opponent Kim Janey).

Tito's "plan" on housing to
Tito's "plan" on housing to shut down new development is so retrograde that I can't believe he really thinks that. He's a smart guy, he has to know that would just exacerbate the crisis. Every unit of new 'luxury' housing built is one fewer unit in a triple decker gobbled up by a wealthy investor that can instead be available to a family. Basic supply and demand.
25% affordable
While his plan is not to shut down new development, forcing the inclusionary development policy to 25% affordable units will in essence do exactly that. And while my view of Tito is not quite as negative as many, this is just such bad, bad policy that it comes off as pandering.
Yes, there is a critical lack of housing in Boston, but doing this would only stall or cancel more development as land and construction costs are currently astronomically high in the Boston market, so imposing an even more stringent regulation will only force developers to try to build cheaper buildings while increasing the cost of other units, thereby creating even less middle ground between those units that are "affordable" and those that are not.
Not to mention the market reality that many who pay full price for units do not necessarily want to mix with those in "affordable" units. Sure you can try and argue these people are wrong or prejudiced, but it's their money.
Finally, most developers are businessman who run their business to make money, so it is always strange when you hear things at public meetings like "they're just trying to make a profit." or about the IDP, "well if they want to build here, they need to contribute more to the community." Actually, if they can't make even a small profit, they just will not build here, and if they do not, then who do you think is going to build Marty's 53,000 housing units? Nonprofits? Nope. HUD? No. The city/BPA? Hah.
There are many other ways to promote affordable housing development, but this is really not one of them. And that's the end of the rant.

"Bad" issue?
In what world is this a bad thing? This is one of the best things that could happen for Boston.
Why vote for him? No way.
Passacantilli or his supporters are lying before they get into office. Why would anyone vote for someone not correcting or contributing to misinformation? We need honest, straightforward people in office!
So he did NOT endorse him?
So were these flyers printed in error?? or as an insider did Stephen think he had the endorsement in the bag???
Walsh doesn't support Passacantilli in Chinese, either
I guess my one question is
How many Chinese readers live in the district? I mean, if this were District 2 sure, maybe District 9, and possibly District 6, but how many people could this reach?

NB- I named the wrong district that has Chinatown in it. And I looked at a map before I wrote it, too. Oh, brother.
