PolitickerMA has the scoop on Marzilli's post-Germany resignation today. No word on how close Dianne Wilkerson is to cleaning out her office.

Ya...
Glad he waited to get home from the state-funded vacation.
Evidence?
Not that I think the trip to Germany was a good idea, but do you have any evidence that the state paid for it?
per diem
State legislators get $10-100/day when traveling, dependent on the distance they're away from the statehouse.
Pay
I would imagine since the conference was on a Wed & Thu (plus travel time), he was also paid his salary while there:
"he earns $2,528 biweekly."
Not a bad ~$1000 if you ask me.
Party on, frauleins
He heard Angela Merkel likes a back rub from a stranger.
'Oh, sorry for grabbing your Arsch und Titten, liebchen, I'm total ubergeschnappt, so it's okay.'
Nits
My understanding is that this only kicks in 1) when the legislature is in session and 2) after the legislator applies for it.
Depends on the State and Event
My NGO organizes a yearly conference, and I had to sign off on all the reimbursements. We paid speakers a stipend plus costs their hotel, airfare, ground transport, and meals when we were not providing them. Some states required that their workers waive the stipend, others did not. Still others directed us to pay their stipends to a charity or non-profit foundation.
This is a common practice because few employers - particularly government employers - will pay for more than a conference a year. If you want people to come, you generally have to pay their way.
I organized a session for some other organization's conference, and I and the speakers were provided with travel, lodging, meals and a small stipend. I did not get a per diem from my organization. Few organizations allow you to "double dip" when your expenses are being covered, either.
State Paid?
Not likely - most conferences and round tables cover the costs of travel and lodging.

(last line)
All events were privately funded and no state tax dollars were involved.
----
a little vague, but maybe just this once, for Mr. Marzilli, "no means no"
Is it too late for
him to be known as "St. Pauli Boy"?
Probably always was.
St. Pauli Girl beer is brewed in Bremen and the district of St. Pauli (which includes that city's famous red light district) is in Hamburg, neither of which are particularly close to Berlin...
