Boston firefighters responded to 7 Allston St. in Dorchester at 10:05 p.m. for what turned into a five-alarm fire in a three-family building - in 3-degree temperatures - that also damaged a neighboring building.
The Boston Fire Department reports all 14 residents of the main fire building got out safely. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The department estimated damage to 7 and 5 Allston St. at $1.5 million - and declared 7 Allston a total loss.

That is 2 streets over from me, those poor people.
They are still on scene dousing it and the water has turned the sidewalks and streets to an icy mess

The BFD radio one.
Wow. Just wow.
I'm so glad that we have smoke detectors and fire alarms and such things that allow people to get out alive. And firefighters who don't flinch.
My god!

Thankful for the BFD.. not thankful for their social media page though. If I was displaced, lost everything in a fire and basically had my whole world turned upside down overnight, last thing Iād wanna see is city employeees posing in front of the ruins of my life. So weird.
Posing?
