Paul Nutting videoed the riders who normally cause problems on Boston's narrower streets and avenues going out for a spin on Morrissey before getting on I-93 in Dorchester. Jesskowski reports about ten riders stunting as they got on the highway around 6:30 p.m.

There was about 40 of them on
There was about 40 of them on Morrissey Blvd inbound around 4pm blocking all 3 lanes. The state trooper heading outbound apparently pretended not to notice.
That Is Morrissey Boulevard
Taken from Malibu with the bikers going towards the SHYC.
Yah I was thinking that
Yah I was thinking that traffic looked too light to be the expressway.
Thanks, post corrected
You're right - I should've known that wasn't 93.
Correction
The video is indeed taken from Malibu Beach, but the bike gang is going northbound on Morrissey towards UMass and Columbia Road.
Not much can be done with no pursuit policy
Most of these pack "bikers" won't stop for red traffic lights, never mind the police. In fact, they will probably drive even more recklessly knowing that policy prohibits officers from pursuing for minor traffic violations. BPD and Environmental Police make an effort by seizing the bikes once they are parked. Other than that not much can be done. No surprise the trooper going in the opposite direction put the blinders on.
Please tell the class
The reason for the no pursuit policy is ...
(hint, rhymes with "illing indecent whystanders")
Stinger quick-deploy tire
Stinger quick-deploy tire spikes. They bring vehicles to a safe stop.
New Gang
Blocking Morrissey? Sounds like The Drips or the Floods to me.
Attention LAW ENFORCEMENT ALERT ALERT
Please crack down immediately severely harshly quickly on these illegal bikes motorbikes in the street they are already a public safety has it and we need to send an Swift immediate response
Statistics?
Do you have evidence of harm - other than their refusal to get off of your lawn?
I Like The Dirt Bikers & 4 Wheelers
Adds a little flava to the neighborhood. So what if it's 'dangerous' or it sounds like the city is under attack by a squadron of weed whackers? Lighten up, people. Watching these kids do wheelie circles in the middle of Ed Everett Sq. for an entire light cycle is pretty entertaining.
The anarchist in me ...
... agrees with you, the kids are taking back the streets. But the noise, I could do without.

Dirt bike gangs
I don't think it's quite that benign. A younger (8-10 yrs old) offshoot group on regular bikes used to go down local Dorchester streets against the traffic. It would have been very easy to hit them, even at low speeds. But that's just an inconvenience compared to this teen group on dirt bikes. A couple of years ago I was on the Expressway one night when they showed up, weaving in and out of highway traffic at high speeds. I don't know if they ended up causing any accidents, but that sort of out-of-control riding at high speeds is guaranteed to be dangerous. For me and for my neighbors in Dorchester, it's a quality of life issue. It wasn't quite as prevalent last summer, however, so I hope this is not a sign that it's starting up again this year.
"guaranteed to be dangerous"
"guaranteed to be dangerous"
What does that even mean?
Something is guaranteed to maybe happen?
CORRECTION
The “riders who normally cause problems on Boston's narrower streets and avenues” are not people on bikes, dirt bikes, etc. They are the people in cars, SUVS, trucks, Ubers, , Lyfts, etc.
I've yet to see an uber go
I've yet to see an uber go the wrong way down a one way street for four or five blocks at a time, spilling over both lanes, so no, the dirt bikers are a problem. these kids don't follow ANY traffic rules, and ride recklessly, including up on the sidewalk where they're endangering pedestrians.
we aren't talking about bikers, this is a different thing all together.
The dirt bikers are noisy...
... and annoying. But they are rare compared to the numbers of motor vehicles out there. I’ve frequently seen Ubers and Lyfts driving dangerously and illegally as well as other vehicles. I have daily near misses with them. I’d much prefer to be hit by a dirt biker or reckless juvenile on a bike than by any motorist.
I don’t condone in the least what they are doing, but I do appreciate that they are making motorists slow down and be more vigilant.
I'd prefer not to be hit at
I'd prefer not to be hit at all. And that the authorities crack down on dangerous driving of all types.
You do realize that a
You do realize that a "reckless juvenile on a bike" likely does not have any form of insurance to help pay for your medical care once you've been hit by them?
