Glad tidings the day before Easter in Copley Square

A couple of box trucks with some cheery messages were driven around Copley Square this afternoon.

Does this guy hate little kids? What a nasty and miserable approach to life.

I save my hate for adults.

But I wouldn't mind a small tasteful parade of mortifiers scourging themselves, and crawling on their knees and other acts of suffering on Good Friday. I mean at least scour the steps of the BPL, especially the more urine-soaked parts.
If the Church of the Advent was good enough for Isabella Stewart Gardner, then certainly a case can be made for the BPL?

No?

On the other hand, if you swap "capitalism" for Satan and get rid of the "burn in hell" stuff, they may have a point.

Still, Happy Passover and Happy Easter, everyone!

One thing I like about capitalism is that it is inclusive: doesn't matter what religion you do or do not belong to, what your ethnicity is or what your sexual orientation is. I was raises celebrating secular versions of Christmas and Easter and it was awesome and no one was discriminated against.

"doesn't matter what religion you do or do not belong to, what your ethnicity is or what your sexual orientation is"

...we'll find a way to exploit you.

actually capitalism has a long history of trying to disenfranchise minorities and the generally "unprofitable", but thanks to governmental regulations and organizations like the ACLU it is as inclusive as it is today

For a violent, spiteful, and hateful heart.
To each their own, I guess.

This message probably would’ve gone over fine around here in the 1600s if they even wanted to acknowledge that Easter was a thing at all. So I say we find this guy, tell him to dress up in period clothes, and make him into a living history exhibit for tourists.

can it wait until after Easter brunch? Second. If possible and for effect, can that Chinese satellite crashing to Earth hit this truck?

...get the Turkey Liberation Front to circle menacingly around that truck while reciting various slogans and poems. That'll put the real fear of God into them.

Aka the Church with the Good News on Columbus Ave outside of Jackson Sq. Lovely people, really. They do it on Christmas Eve too. Judging from the panel truck (it used to be a 60' RV), it looks like Pastor Andre Ridley has fallen on hard times since the Bankruptcy Court has prohibited him from filing new cases in order to try to avoid paying taxes on his mattress store that he also uses as a "church" (or hold off, since taxes can't be written off by bankruptcy). That $60,000 plus must have made a dent in the church's finances. I love seeing silly charlatans fall.

Why are these messages always in all caps and lacking in punctuation? It hurts the eyes to read it.
