Patrick cancels visit to areas affected by ice storms due to "bad weather"
By Brett on Mon, 12/15/2008 - 4:00pm
Deval was scheduled to pop out to Blandford, MA (a "surprise" trip- perhaps to avoid boot-throwing terrorists residents who have been without power since Thursday night?) to check out the storm damage. Instead, he cancelled his trip. Why? Bad weather: temperatures pushing 50 degrees, 10mph winds, and "slight chance of rain showers" were enough to keep the governor's helicopter away. Ah, such an arduous journey by car, those two hours.
This evening will mark 96 hours since the storm, the number of people without power is going up, and as of this morning, the national guard had only cleared 87 100 miles of road.

Poor guy its not like he has
Poor guy its not like he has a nice comfortable luxury car to take the trip in, do you have no shame Brett?
The Herald had a picture
The Herald had a picture this morning of the Governor getting in a helicopter to survey the damage, so I would assume he has already done so this weekend. If so, while unfortunate he couldn't get to see people in Blandford, I'm not sure a 2-hour car ride would be justified given the continued need to coordinate the response like he was this weekend.
10 mph winds? Hardly
It was blowing 20-30 at Logan and out here in I-495 land, not great stuff for a small chopper.
