There's really only one way a kid who's ridden pretty much every bus route in the state could get to his prom

Miles on the MBTA with his prom date

Miles Taylor, who as Miles on the MBTA, has ridden and written about pretty much every subway, commuter rail and bus line in the state, is a senior at Cambridge Rindge and Latin. Last night, he went to the school prom, at the Marriott Long Wharf. Fellow transit enthusiast Ari Ofsevit posted photos from Taylor's - and his date's - bus ride from Cambridge to the Boston waterfront.

Let him sleep in. Besides, there's also the adorable duckling photo for him to deal with.

That's magic! Parking in front of a fire hydrant not so magic.

So who cares...

Plus it's in a trolley charter tour stop there. And it was a charter …

The fire hydrant is actually part of the trolley loading/unloading zone

The copy is kind of vague.

That's how I interpreted it.

Bit old for a prom wingman.

I've changed "his" to "Taylor's" to make it clearer who was going to the prom last night.

No, it was Ari who took the photo. Miles went to the prom.

I can't remember who owns the bus tho.

Is it "prom" or "the prom"? As in "I'm going to the prom"? When I was growing up in Boston in the 60s and 70s it was ALWAYS "the prom", but for years now, all I've ever heard on TV is "I'm going to prom". When did it change?

Forget the Bentley or the Rolls...

It's the New Flyer D40 For. The. Win.

After nearly thirty years of bus rides, being a passenger upon this bus cruising the country roads of Maine shall always be among my top ten favorite trips of all time.

He spent his summer at UMass at a "Summer Transportation Institute" (and reviewing PVTA bus routes). I just checked, though, and found out that's a pre-college program, so I guess he really is a kid.

Congrats, Miles!

Why didn't they hold their prom at a Cambridge hotel?

My prom was held at the same location for a school 15 miles away.

I didn't have a bus nor a limo!

And we LIKED it!
