Fantastic year. No one thought we would get this far without Kyrie and Hayward. #CUSRise #celtics

Let this be a lesson to all veterans
At the end of a game that the Celtics LOST and after playing horribly, the fans gave this team a standing ovation. Boston loves winning, but we have smart sports fans. Somehow a group of kids that are barely out of high school took on the best that the NBA had and almost made the finals. Sure they lost, but they gave it everything they had and it was fun to watch. You can suck in Boston and the fans will still love you as long as you are giving it everything you've got.
Congratulations kids and well done. Not personally a huge NBA fan, but look forward to an even more entertaining and successful year next time around.
Hat tip, well done.
What a choke
softest fans in the nba too
Umwhat?
Nobody expected very much from this pack of kids. They played their hearts out and it was very interesting to watch them learn on the court in real time.
I'm more than surprised that they made a 7 game show of the series. I can't wait to see how they do next year.
Trade kids for somebody who can sink a 3
Trophies for everybody may work in canoe racing and birdwatching. These are men. They are there to put the ball through the basket. They had a 2-0 lead and a 3-2 lead in the series and a 12 point lead in the game.
Brad Stevens never deviated from his game plan which lived and died on whether these kids sank their 3s.
Call me crazy but I wouldn't
Call me crazy but I wouldn't trade any of those "kids". They're extremely talented and young. If you can't see the value in this team, maybe you shouldn't be coaching in the NBA anymore.
Can we trade you for someone
Can we trade you for someone who can sink three coherent thoughts?
I would contend
I would contend that many fans did and still do have very high expectations for this pack of kids. It is not some rag-tag assembly of misfits, but a very deliberately assembled cohort of young, mainly highly drafted players, with strong basketball pedigree and talent to back it up.
I am not discounting the fact that many casual fans dismissed this team the moment Hayward went down in the first game of the season. I just think it is important to note that the youngest players on this team are elite pieces needed to form Voltron and anything less than game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals would have been a step backwards (remember we were there last year too).
#CusRISE!!
I was at the game, season
I was at the game, season ticket holder. I honestly did not expect the team to get this far. It hurt losing the way we did, but no one thought bench guys could lead a team within minutes of the NBA Finals. Interestingly enough, the Rockets had a similar uncharacteristic poor shooting night in a game 7 in their building.
I stood up and applauded this team at the end, they did the best they could. Usually after a season like this its "what can we do better" or "who do we need to add". Luckily we have 2 all stars coming back this fall.
Big Time Choke
that was pathetic great game Rozier i could of found 20 drunk guys in front of the garden that would of had a better nite then you did shooting
Excellent impression of a
Excellent impression of a drunk Masshole with a tentative grasp of the English language.
I love
the anon trolls, who probably didn’t watch a game not involving Cleveland or Golden State this year, coming strong with the hot takes.
