Taking 'Donuts' out of their name already paying off for Dunkin'
By adamg on Thu, 05/31/2018 - 10:57pm
Freed from the constraints of "donuts," the chain can now offer all sorts of things - like bags of ice. Robert Orthman spotted the sign offering ice this evening outside the still Dunkin' Donuts on Washington Street (the one near Roslindale Square, not the other one).

I still see the word DONUTS on that blue sign
in red, at the bottom right. Don't you?
Oh, sure
But they weren't selling ice before they announced the change to just Dunkin'.
Sure they were
I've purchased ice at plenty of DD's. Not all, but those close to the beach, or on the Cape. I assume it's up to each individual franchise owner.
Exactly
My son worked for one dunks that sold ice, another that didn't (but would tell you to go to the other one). 2015 through 2017. It is a great idea actually - you can get coffee and get the ice for the cooler all on the drive through.
I've seen this at other Dunks
I've seen this at other Dunks for quite some time, nothing new.

Joey Bag-a-Ice
...Just doesn't have the same ring to it.
Sounds sinister
Like death.
At least I expect ice to be flavorless
So I can't be disappointed when it doesn't taste like anything, the way I have with everything else I've bought from them
Try the cold brew
That's my emergency coffee these days. Huge value compared to other places - $3.50 for a "medium" (aka 20 ounce).
Up next: cigarettes and
Up next: cigarettes and lottery tickets
