Was it just a security cam

Was it just a security cam keeping things secure, or was there actually intent to see stuff you're not allowed to see?
Also, the Brookline Patch photo is dishonest. It shows the restaurant blocked off with police tape, but that was from a while back when the facade next door collapsed.
Really?

Would you patronize a restaurant with cameras in the restroom, which is where police say the videos were taken?
I've been covering restaurant and bar hearings at the Boston Licensing Board for a long time, where the issue of security cameras comes up a lot. And while Brookline is obviously another jurisdiction, I have never heard of a place with surveillance cameras in restrooms.

You would be okay with someone digitally recording you going to the bathroom? ...what does that say about you? Adults and children have an expectation of privacy when using a restroom at a restaurant and anyone who begs to differ may want to rethink their views on privacy. Anyone who thinks that digitally recording a little boy or girl in a bathroom is acceptable is a pervert. Just disgusting.
Big fat nope

I wouldn't like it. But it makes a difference when prosecuting this guy, if it was just a misunderstanding of where he's allowed to monitor for vandalism and stuff, or if he was actually looking into the forbidden zone.
Well.

"... I have never heard of a place with surveillance cameras in restrooms."
I have it on good authority (I read it on the internet) that if you put up a sign that says, "For Security Purposes Only" everything is cool.

Per WBZ TV 5 o'clock news this sicko is already under investigation for child rape. You still have a problem with his customers upset about being secrerly filmed in his restaurant bathroom? Stop rationalizing the behavior of sexual predators.
