Man travels from Pittsburgh to Boston with a gun, lot of ammo and a Kevlar vest; gets arrested
Boston Police report arresting a man from a Pittsburgh suburb on gun charges because while he had a license to carry, it had been revoked last week.
Police say Robert Goodson, 23, of Etna, PA, tried checking into the St. Francis House shelter on Boylston Street on Monday loaded for bear, or something: Packing a Glock 23 semi-automatic gun, five large-capacity magazines - three of them fully loaded - a total of 100 rounds of ammunition and sundry other items, including a black Kevlar vest, a black neoprene ski mask and "black leather tactical style gloves." But a security guard told him guns and ammo aren't allowed inside, so he left, and the guard called police, who figured out who he was and where he was from - and that he no longer had a valid gun license.
Police say the guard called them around 7:45 a.m on Tuesday when Goodson returned. He wasn't armed this time, but police say officers began looking around for him and his weaponry:
After several hours of investigation, Boston police officers were able to locate the duffel bag at a baggage storage desk at the South Station Bus Terminal. Officers contacted the Transit police who maintain jurisdiction over the station, and the officers together determined that the duffel bag would be opened.
And inside they found the gun, the magazines and the other stuff. BPD says Transit Police officers found him around 4:10 p.m. and arrested him on various firearms charges.
Innocent, etc.

See something, say something
Kudos to the security guard for calling the cops, rather than just saying, "OK, he left. Not my problem anymore."
Did Pennsylvania properly
Did Pennsylvania properly notify him they suspended his license to have a gun? This could be a violation of his 2nd rights?
Properly Notify?
Explain to us what that would require.
I doubt this is just some bureaucrat yanking his file.
Also, he was in MA where these weapons are illegal. LTC is irrelevant.
While the weapons are not
While the weapons are not illegal, possession of them without a Resident or Non-Resident Massachusetts Issued LTC is.

Excellent work by the security officer
Its good to know that residents of homeless shelters have adequate security. South station bus terminal on the other hand has a few security guards walking around while pimps looking for runaways, drug dealers and now gun runners have taken over the terminal.
WHY?
why was his license revoked.
or did it expire?
Is this some kind of vacation package ...
for moron gun nuts? "Bring your guns to a state where you are probably not allowed to have them and visit the jail."
Look at the upside
Free room and board. Can't beat that in Boston.
There's no such thing as free
There's no such thing as free room and board at St. Francis shelter. You pay heavily in the stress and sleeplessness for your sense of safety and security of both your body and your belongings!!
I think
he was referring to the jail. Where you're nice and safe.
Another sick gun nut. He blew
Another sick gun nut. He blew his money on guns and ammo and then has no money for housing so he goes to a homeless shelter.
He could have bought a car
But then you'd have called him a 'sick car nut' which is OK since it doesn't change the number of bytes you need to use to vent your inner hatred so it won't mess up your careful typesetting of the poorly Xeroxed socialist newsletter I'm sure you're handing out on some street corner.
Man, "car people" are fucking
Man, "car people" are fucking weird.
