![Mural on wall of Pizza Stop in Brookline](https://universalhub.com/files/styles/main_image_-_bigger/public/new/pizzamural.jpg)
You can work up an appetite driving sort of aimlessly around - especially if you forgot to eat lunch - so when we saw the Pizza Stop on Cypress Street in Brookline, we pulled over and went in - and were immediately struck by the large sorta-Lichtensteinish mural on one wall (especially impressive given that the whole place is really tiny).
Compare to the Phaeton legend painted on a wall at Nick's on Washington Street in Roslindale:

Any other pizza-place murals we should check out?

But, yeah, Tuscan woman carrying giant bushels of grapes on their heads or whatever (all apparently hand painted by the same guy in several of their restaurants).
Put a jukebox off to the side

Put a jukebox off to the side, and Ms. Pacman tabletop game near the front and you have every Papa Gino's ever in the 1980s and 1990s.
Though I find it funny that I am told I can have death for reminiscing about something that was peak New England for most in the 25-40 range. PG's would be the best chain in most every town outside of the northeast. It's a shame John's and not Gino's caught on.
Not pizza, but there are decent murals in Taqueria Jalisco in East Boston which always reminded me of PG's murals. Coincidentally down the street from the original location of the chain (now El Paisa II).

I read that as you can have the 80s style murals at Papa Gino's, not death.
I remember drinking many pitchers of root beer at Papa Gino's in the 80s before and after hitting the arcade to play Joust or Xevious. Good times.
At least this is a lot better than filling potholes

and putting your corporate logo on the fresh asphalt (like a certain pizza chain is currently doing as part of their latest marketing gimmick).
is it?

Not an anti-muralist, but filling potholes is actually very useful, and we all know how slow DPW is. If they want to slap their logo on afterword, that's fine with me.
With respect, you are an example of why we are increasingly

being smothered with NEEDLESS marketing messages hyping stuff that we can just as easily do without.
But hey, we get bad patch jobs on potholes in return for a corporate logo being plastered on our streets , so it must be OK - NOT.
Yeah I mean it's not like

Yeah I mean it's not like that selfsame company filling potholes for publicity is majority owned by funds and trading companies for the super rich, the same ones who've spent the last half century raiding the public coffers and pushing for ever lower taxes for themselves, hoarding their money like it's a high score on a video game and leaving local municipalities unable to do things, like, say, fill potholes..... naaahhhh, couldn't be.....

Does the Mural at Umberto's in the North End count?

not conducive to driving around, but I have always loved the corny mural on the wall at Umberto's. If my eyes need a break from the people-watching in that place, that mural does the trick. It's almost as cheesy as the pizza.

Anyone remember the murals on three walls with "natives" hunting and people farming and all that?

But the ceramic (?) map of Waltham lives on on the outside wall: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Waltham_su...
