It's an off ramp not an on ramp, and it's not an on/off ramp either as the on camera reporter calls it.

Um, just say the "Gas Tank".

The "200 Block" of Victory Road has a gas tank, a park, and a boat club. It isn't some city block like you are in Denver or Kansas City with addresses like 25485 North Fourth Street SW. This is Boston, report like you are from here.

Also, these National Grid workers are fighting for the same goals and aspirational gains that the Market Basket people were fighting for a few summers ago. If you supported them, you have to support these people.

National Grid is already trying to make themselves look nice by issuing a press release this morning saying they are going to bring back up power generators to Nantucket for the summer to meet increased demand. That's nice. Pay your workers a fair wage while you are at it.

I know next to nothing about the gas workers contracts. What little I have heard from each side sounds perfectly reasonable, even if they both are saying completely opposite things. In the end each side will give a little and it'll get resolved.

We'll all pay for it in our monthly bill.

Any business which is a natural monopoly should be required to operate as a private non-profit. Non-employee investors shouldn't be able to profit when there aren't free market choices for consumers.

...and regulated by the state. They are allowed to make a reasonable profit and have to request permission from the state to raise prices, add new fees, etc.

...When the company "gives" a little, it's in the form of agreeing to let the workers keep something they already have. On the other hand when the workers give a little it's usually in the form of a reducing pension, healthcare or other benefits.

Why was traffic blocked?

This common trend of people protesting/striking that block traffic is BS. If you cannot effectively communicate your message without being an A'hole you probably shouldn't deserve whatever you are protesting. You want to block National Grid trucks from coming in or out, block National Grid parking lots - go for it; leave me out of your crap.

...you, a National Grid consumer (as am I), will remain blissfully ignorant and will do nothing. Now that's effective.

You want to block National Grid trucks from coming in or out, block National Grid parking lots - go for it; leave me out of your crap.

It's your crap too, son.

We need the gas leaks fixed in our communities, There is a Level 3 on my street right now (utility not required to take action) and no sign of when they will be back to fix it. They tried to fix it a couple of week ago and punctured our water main instead!! 3 hours without water until the City fixed it. Maybe that was contractors and not the real NGRID workers. Give these people an equitable package, protect their pensions & benefits and let's all get back to work,

"...and punctured our water main instead!"

AWESOME! Let's give them a raise!

by the way, "equitable package" and "protect their pensions" do not belong in the same sentence. Nobody in the real world gets a pension anymore.
