Leapin' lizards!

OK, OK, it was more of a loungin' lizard, soaking up the sun outside the Citizens Bank on South Street in Roslindale Square.
Adam Kessel, who found the wee beastie this morning, took it home and put it in a comfy box for safe keeping until the owner shows up.

Aren't they supposed to be green? Why is he brown? Or is that normal?

People have bred beardies for a range of colors--black, white, red, yellow..... They actually come from the deserts of Australia, so that brown-gold color is their natural color; good camouflage in the dust.
Not an iguana!
You may be thinking of the green iguana, another common pet lizard.
