It'll be a transcontinental series - and the first time the two teams have met in the World Series since 1916, when Brooklyn manager Wilbert Robinson (left, and a native of Bolton, Mass.) and Sox manager Bill Carrigan met and shook hands. The Sox won that series 4-1.

I can't wait to be in the front row to clinch in game 6 or game 7. Could be like the second clinching at home on Halloween. Great for instagram and twitter and beer and ticket and newspaper sales! So glad Daddy allowed the people with the expensive seats to get beer served to them. Can you believe at Yankee Park they serve beer to all the ruffians and ;in stripers and ne'er do wells. No wonder there is so much sexual assaults in the Bronx. We at Fenway know that only wealthy people can be responsible with their alcohol. Like Judge Cavanuagh.

My Dear Linda
Hate to say it, but spending money is good. The Low Talker, and not the person from the family that can't seem to make 50 Redfield Street not look like the Addams Family house of office buildings, has the chance to win the World Series, The Premier League, and the Champions League this year. Money was spent wisely at Fenway and at Anfield by the Cardinals fan. I'll take my teams winning any day.
PS - I have felt safer in the bleachers at Yankee Stadium than I have at Dodger Stadium. At least Yankee fans wait until they are outside the stadium area to kill Red Sox fans, the Dodgers just let you get messed up in the parking lot. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/two-men-plead-guilty-to-2011-beating-at-dod...
PPS - The Red Sox Fan turnout at games 3, 4, and 5 (if necessary) will be massive in LA.
Calling All Poseurs
The massiveness of the Sox fan turnout will probably be mostly media/film industry people who went to college in Boston who could score WS tix and now have this great opportunity to show off their latent East Coast grittiness to their associates and prospective investors. Plus of course, the inevitable affleckdamonwahlberg spotted in the stands in perfectly faded Sox caps.
Can't Afford To Go?
Too bad for you.

Bragging about how tight me and Conan are.
Linda has opened my eyes
I never before quite realized the close connection between trolling and performance art. S/he has practically erased the distinction. It’s quite a revelation.
Clarification
I did not mean to suggest, by the way, that some trolling is really performance art. I meant that a lot of performance art is really just trolling.
Go Sox!!!
It’s been 20 months since I’ve attended a Championship parade, we’re overdue for another one.

A Nice Touch to the World Series
Both teams wear reproduction uniforms based on the 1916 designs.
Fabulous ...
Fabulous photo.
I've followed both teams, and have never seen that photo.
Terrific.
It's kind of amazing
What you can find at the Library of Congress. More locally, Digital Commonwealth is pretty cool, too.
Sox Outfields
The Red Sox outfield of the 1910-15 era -- left fielder Duffy Lewis, center fielder Tris Speaker and right fielder Harry Hooper -- is one of the best ever. Speaker and Hooper are in the Hall of Fame.
The current outfield is awfully good, if not quite HoF material. Mookie has a shot.
