Globe loses an editor to New York Times
By adamg on Mon, 11/05/2018 - 9:48am
Alex Kingsbury, formerly deputy Ideas editor at the Globe, is joining the New York Times as a senior staff editor for the editorial board, where he will write editorials, work on efforts similar to the Globe's national "the press is not the enemy effort" and will also help with the Times's technology coverage.

Job
So if Trump loses in 2020 what are all these journalists going to do to find fault with Republicans? No more daily craziness in the White House, no more fake news, etc.
He's going to the Times, not Fox News
Have you barricaded your summer cabin against The Caravan?
"the press is not the enemy
"the press is not the enemy effort"
Well when the media keeps making all sorts of mistakes in one direction akin to press releases for companies or activist causes, fails to cover or follow-up major stories, and can't even seem to get basic information correct in a regular basis what should we call them?
UHub is kicking the snot out of the local broadcast and broadsheets in quality and consistency of content. When a one man band on a blog outdoes so called 'professional' journalists with "resources" EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK maybe it's indicative of a yuuuge problem with media outlets.
Thanks!
But at the risk of sounding ungrateful, Boston MSM actually does some things really well. Even with all the layoffs we've had, Boston is still far from becoming the sort of news desert we see in other places.
Re: "the press is not the enemy effort"
From the NYTCO Press Release:
As such, it sounds like what drew the NYT Editorial Board to Alex Kingsbury was not so much the "the press is not the enemy" message (though, given that they joined in that campaign, they certainly agreed with it) but the website the Globe built for it and similar projects ("several of the editorial page’s most ambitious multimedia, enterprise projects").
In this case, it's not the message, but the delivery that was attractive.
Saw Alex Kingsbury
yesterday at the Globe Live event.
Must have been just a little awkward for him (though I'm sure everyone is on good terms).
As long as it’s not the
As long as it’s not the heroic and honorable Kevin Cullen.
Cullen will be fine
Fitzy, Sully and Okie will pick him up at the finish line.
Oo. Nice one
Congrats on the burn
