City gets 13 proposals for parcels that could help remake Dudley Square

The Bay State Banner reports on the proposals filed with the Boston Department of Neighborhood Development for several vacant lots in Dudley Square.

The gentrification bus rolls through Roxbury. The poor and elderly need not apply.

On average, 70% of the new homes would be income-restricted.

Across the 13 proposals and 4 lots, the average number of new homes would be 312, which includes 218 income-restricted homes and 94 market rate homes.

Today, most of these lots are used to store cars, which is an abysmal use of space next to Dudley Square station, the terminus for the SL4 and SL5 and 10 other MBTA bus routes.
