Transit cop gets probation for sexually attacking two women at North Station
James Floyd admitted today he went up to two women, grabbed them and thrust himself at them while working a detail at North Station on March 29, 2018.
In exchange for pleading guilty to two counts of indecent assault and battery - and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon - Suffolk Superior Court Judge Rosalind Miller sentenced Floyd to three years probation, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Miller also ordered Floyd, 61, of Winthrop, to stay away from the victims and from North, South and Back Bay stations.
The assault with a dangerous weapon stems from the incident involving the first woman, whom he offered a knife and urged her to stab him - and then whom he menaced with a baton, police said.

Fired?
Didi he lose his job?
Article says he resigned.....
But he will lose his pension.
He won’t lose his pension
He can’tlose his pension. Transit Police has a private pension fund independent from the State. There is no “bad boy “ clause. He will collect his full pension.
Really....
And if he got fired? I'm guessing they wouldn't let him resign if that were true.
He resigned so we wouldn’t get fired.
His pension would not be in jeopardy if he was fired. He resigned so he would be be fired. It was a tactical move now it is always referenced that he resigned and can’t state he was fired. The dept. can not prevent him from resigning.
Does no one read the linked articles?
He resigned after the incidents were reported, so he's no longer working for the transit police and can't lose a job he doesn't have.
Talking about a pension, not a job.
Although the first comment was about the job, yes.
Sounds like he had a screw loose
Probation-only sounds insufficient. If he was also required to get mental health treatment, then I'd say it was more appropriate than jail. So he's just back on the street with his knife and baton? Worrisome.
I’m pretty sure they take the
I’m pretty sure they take the baton away when you leave the job.
I thought
Rachael Rollins was going to be tough on police misconduct. He sexually assaults two women and gets probation and it appears he doesn't have to register as a sex offender. Why do we have laws if the Judge and District Attorney won't enforce them?
Sexually assaulting women,
Sexually assaulting women, beating up homeless people, covering up crimes. Are the transit cops giving the MA state police some competition for the biggest criminal gang in the state?
This guy was 61, the one that
This guy was 61, the one that beat the homeless man was 65. Sounds more like it’s tough to shake their old ways and catch up with modern policing.
100% true. It’s not the 70s,
100% true. It’s not the 70s, 80s and 90s anymore and this awful shit has no place in modern policing. So hurry up and retire before you hurt someone if you’re still like this.

Homeless Beating
On the subject of pensions the cop who was charged with beating the homeless man retired and is getting his full pension according to channel 5. Why would two supervisors risk their jobs to cover up the beating they knew was on camera ?
