i'm not a food snob by any means but good riddance. it's comical that the only pf chang's left in boston is two blocks from a neighborhood full of full authentic chinese food so we'll see how long it lasts.

I've been a few times.
For someone in Kansas that has no local Asian placse, it's alright as an alternative.
But for a city who has many Asian-inspired restaurants. PF just could not compete, and it's basically the Olive Garden of Asian restaurants.
Its not even real szechuan food (like we're all used to here at local places), its someone's take on it.

And this one is even better than the one in Liverpool! I feel like these Chang people are doing a cultural service introducing ethnic food to Americans who might not have the privelges i have to travel so much.

At least we have back bay to fall back on, don't forget. And also don't forget there is new good authentic food at Fenway. Amazingly the Boston Globe wrote an article about it. What a coincidence!

I think there were plans to turn a large part of that mall into more office space which likely will be more worthwhile for the area.
I know the apple store does a lot of (b2b) business and I have run over to best buy a few times for things. I do wonder about the rest of the stores. The CVS needs a pharmacy.

There is a new CVS at 225 Cambridge St. (intersection of Cambridge and Third) that has a pharmacy.
Kendall Square needs a CVS, too
or *some* sort of drugstore. People live here now and need basic goods in their neighborhood.
CambridgeSide is committing suicide. I don't know why.
This is a busy, healthy mall that is doing its best to turn itself into a dead mall. I don't understand why.
They are requiring all of the third-floor retail tenants to either close or move downstairs so that they can turn the third floor into office space. So far this has caused J. Crew, Forever 21, and Gap to close. Later this spring, Express and the Macy's "home" annex will also close.
(Sears and Charlotte Russe have also closed, because of bankruptcies. Payless ShoeSource, another bankruptcy, will close in May, but they are on the second floor.)
That leaves the third floor with only Hollister, Abercrombie, and Banana Republic, whose plans I don't yet know. Bank of America is already planning to move their branch to the second floor.

For a lot of the "boutique" stores, there's not sufficient foot traffic to justify keeping a multitude of retail outlets. The pressure to make enough sales in the mall outlets to cover rent and salaries is pretty high; I suspect we'll lose several more clothing stores before the 3rd floor conversion happens.

Retail is being destroyed by a great plague, perhaps the most destructive ever to infect mankind, dissolving the foundations of every manner of public institution, from the press to education to democracy. It's called the Internet. I would say that historians would someday call it our greatest mistake, but there will be no historians, because the Internet will have destroyed History.
It will, on the other hand, have enabled UHub, which is good compensation. But not enough.

They probably look at the numbers being charged in Kendall Square and saw dollar signs. Not sure why they wouldn't assist those brands in moving downstairs, but maybe the stores wanted out anyway. I'm always amazed how many people are at Cambridgeside, day in and day out.
Good riddance
I used to work in the Pru and went for drinks in the PF there all the time. Great bartenders. Never ate and once the bartender insisted on bringing me some food, on the house.
I played nice and ate a bit. My instincts were right.

P F Chang's
I ha wondered about the place. I go to local Chinese etc. places, not chains. The Olive Garden of Chinese Food expresses P F Chang's perfectly. The villain is called Amazon and on-line shopping and all you lazy people who won't go out and look at things in stores and instead sit on your duffs with your smartphones are the culprits. However there ARE a few too many malls all over; reminds me of that planet in Hitch-hikers' Guide to the Galaxy that had a few too many shoe stores on High Street (an English term) which led to the Total Shoe Horizon Event as the economy came to consist mostly of shoe stores and the collapse of civilization except for a few creatures who sprouted wings and took to the air. Now the Cheesecake Factory? Talk about pretension and fakery. Yupscale Food meets King Tut's Tomb. Hey, even Durgin-Park and finally Jacob Wirth eventually bit the dust; when's the last time any of you ate at a Howard Johnson's?
