Police have not said whether they believe the death to be suspicious.

Maybe it's my own blinkered experience, but I haven't stumbled across a lot of natural deaths that ended up with the body literally on fire.
Here's hoping there's some sort of reasonable explanation for this that doesn't end with "and then the killer set everything on fire to hide the evidence."
May have been homeless, camping out. Time is around dinner time, may have accidental self-immolated with steno or another type of fuel.
Remembering Jimmy “the Broom” Woods D.O.D. 12/26/1985, a homeless, navy vet who died beside the old Bedford Street Garage Downtown, who did odd jobs for change, was friendly when sober and nasty when drunk. He was trying to keep warm in 16° weather at night and a can of steno ignited his cardboard shelter /clothing/belongings.
Very sad. Maybe we should open up more drop-in places for these poor guys to get a cup of coffee and a donut and come in from the cold instead of enabling substance abusers by having safe injection site locations.
That believing something because it validates your other beliefs is not the same as reality.
Law enforcement has had plenty of chances to demonstrate the effectiveness of what they believe. Time for them to step aside and let medical science act on what they know. Threatening doctors is just more evidence that their power and control paradigm is failing.
Better to not have used needles on the ground, and to prevent the spread of communicable disease. You can't tough guy addictions away, and anything that limits the amount of harm is never going to be a bad thing.
Massachusetts has right to shelter, and as sad as it is there are people who will not go into shelter. It is sadder too that Non profit and Public Health workers are not empowered to really support mentally ill and addicted. is this a defacto warehousing human beings, enabling them into their deaths, while Institutional non profits rake taxpayers money up? The most potent illicit on the street is "the cocktail" It is made up of pharmacuticals that come right of safety net and harm reduction medical institutions.
Having safe places to inject keeps the problem in a controlled area, allows the health dept to get a solid tally of the afflicted, offer health and rehab assistance and assistance and provide a place to get food and shelter.
What makes you think injection drug users want to be contained. Please put your SIF in your backyard ok. I have already given my school nurse Barack for if a child( second largest population of opiate exposed) gets exposed at school their school in BoSton if user on way to use drops a bag when dropping of their child. Get real.
Since the body has has not been identified. Where do you think could be a family member or family friend or one of your friends.
Which one of your friends who are challenged and you haven't spoken to me recently maybe it's time for a phone call and conduct a check in?
Unless you know more than law enforcement low who said that it was a homeless person or person who is a substance abuser you don't even know if it was murder or accidental. Always wait until all the facts in.

Safe injection sites?
Boston does not have any; in fact, the local US attorney has threatened to prosecute any medical professionals who might work in one.
I hope you are right!

Bingo
Well said. Of course it's about warehousing 'undesirables'; and, of course, making $ off The System.
