I love how they cross at the crosswalk. I have seen them wait for the pedestrian light to turn on the Riverway and then when traffic stops, they cross.

they are Canadian, after all.

It's definitely a learned behavior, but more likely because there's a ramp on both sides so they don't have to hop up and down the curb, rather than an attempt to conform to societal standards. Other birds have this figures out too.
