I guess MSP haven't had a good "invigorating" beatdown since they brutally attacked skaters for legally skating.

If only the MSP went after corruption in their ranks or drugged up motorists with the zeal they attack non-motorized citizens having fun.

You have the universal hub domain before cambridgeday.

Fixed.

No need to be sorry. It's your website and mistakes happen. All is well now.

Adam, you added the universalhub.com web address to the Cambridge Day address, resulting in an error.

The link to the article is here.

(I originally had a pun entitled "MSP troopers rude to bikers who are nude" in the link but I wouldn't want to steal your thunder ;-)

There were a bunch of people engaged in open drinking in a park that was most likely closed. The State Police on patrol tried to break it up and a riot ensued.

The bicycle ride, in the greater scheme of things, had nothing to do with it. It was over hours before this incident.

Or I read the article wrong, but that does seem to be the gist of it.

The ride ended about 40 minutes prior to the incident and there was no riot (so, 20 cops? Really?)

Who knew there was a crossover between violent Antifa anarchists and bike riders?

Threatening to tase people over that?

They should all lose their badges.Unfit to serve.

Remember the good old day when they were just grifting unpaid overtime?

Good for all the people in the video standing up to them. Well done.

Dollars to donuts this case gets tossed or non-prosecuted..

Well why not arrest some harmless naked idiots? After all, there are no serious criminals out there, no one committing any dangerous crimes. I wonder if any of the Staties got paid overtime for this?

I don’t believe they pulled themselves away from any crimes of violence to participate in this. This is what policing is, sometimes you have nothing better than naked public drinkers.

The lack of respect for law enforcement is disgusting.

Respect has to be earned and I don't really see the MSP doing their part here to earn it.

... is what white privilege looks like.

up

But, rather, to extend the privilege to everyone.

This should have been resolved with fewer cops and fewer arrests.

my question is did the bike have a seat ? you never know

On UHub it is more liberal privilege than white privilege. Please don’t lump all white people in mass in with them.

there is no basis for speculating on the racial makeup of the event.

State police have too much jurisdiction in this area.

They are the State Police, they have jurisdiction in the ENTIRE State......

Naked bike ride, sure, but sounds like the troopers were the bigger bunch of boobs.

Why is North Point Park closed at dusk, and how is public notice of this rule provided?

It looks like a great place to walk along the river for views of the city at night, and the entrance is wide open with no signs listing limited hours: https://goo.gl/maps/zzD85xZa1SGtfVq79

And if the dusk closure includes the footbridge to Charlestown, it makes it impossible to use it for commuting much of the year.

This rule sounds like an excuse to harass people selectively.

if it says closed at dusk its because of sexual activity in the area.

just sayin.

Yep, gotta ban everyone from it just to make sure no one can do anything illegal there. Makes sense.

Makes one wonder what all those troopers were doing before the incident?

The guy was totally resisting arrest. He wa sthrowing himself on the ground. I wish they would
Have arrested the loud mouth “lady” who was screaming at them calling them names and threw the guys shoe at him. He lost his shoe to bad for him if he wasn’t dragging his feet he wouldn’t have lost the shoe. They should have arrested the entire bunch of them.

If someone is seriously injured in the arrest for a crime as harmless as being in a public park after dark, the responsibility for that rests 100% with the police.

The staties seemed pretty restrained to me. It’s not their responsibility to stop and litigate everything with aggrieved bystanders - one of whom actually tried to get handsy with them midarrest.

Certain people are going to cry foul at any arrest, and all the more so if they have skin in the game.
