I'm biased. I work there. Limelight Stage and Studios in the Theatre District (204 Tremont St by Emerson College). Thursdays thru Saturdays their main stage is open to the public. Available private rooms throughout the week.

on a Sunday at El Potro in Union Square, Somerville. The host was a diminutive fellow who wore a white rhinestone-studded cowboy outfit and sang like a bird.

If you could get the mic away from him, you could sing some Spanish-language karaoke. You haven't lived until you've heard two drunk Anglo girls wailing away to "Total Eclipse of the Heart" in fractured Spanish.

(Might want to call ahead before heading over. I can't tell from their Facebook page if it's still on these days.)

I love El Potro. Best cheap breakfast in town (pro tip: desayuna tipico).

I had no idea they do karaoke though, sounds incredible!
