Channel 5 reports on this video (more discussion here), apparently from a surveillance camera at the Allston Blanchard's (not affiliated with the JP or West Roxbury Blanchards). The dog is in a cage partially visible to the left of the cash register:

Yet another time we need journalists
By neilv

The discussion on lemmingtrail.com reaches epic levels of blather without actually determining what happened.
I have to wait for the Globe or Phoenix or someone to investigate. Or at least for an MSPCA press release, if the papers don't follow up.

I'd like more (credible) information on this story, too. Like, who this guy is, for example. That's a horrible thing he did. I'm glad the beagle is okay.
Credible information? The

Credible information? The store owner is denying it, yet multiple people who post on lemmingtrail actually work there and have confirmed that is what happened. Not sure what else a journalist could do but ask the employees, none of whom have said otherwise.

Some anonymous poster on UH claims that multiple messages on blather site lemmingtrail purporting to be different people and who claim to work at the company and in turn claiming such and such and it is unclear how these alleged people would have this information or how credible these alleged people are even if they are multiple people who are who they say they are...
I could go on, unless you've had enough.
Again, this is why we need journalists.
And also, why we need a public that has a basic awareness of what journalists actually do.

What a sick piece of absolute garbage! Did he push an old lady out into traffic and then punch a baby after he left the store?? I can't even comprehend the psychopathic tendencies it takes to see an innocent and defenseless caged animal and then think to try to stomp it to death...I hope the authorities check this freak's place of residence for bodies, as this is clearly a very sick and angry individual.
yea Im confused

I read the article on Boston, com about boycotting the store and all that? No one has explained about what the store has to do with it?

The crate-stomper is alleged by some to be the owner of the liquor store, and an all 'round not-very-nice guy. (Globe story)

The Globe story explains that the person who posted the video is (was?) a 20 year old employee at the store. His video description on YouTube for this video is: blanchards allston.ma owner stomping sons dog at work....
So, I think it's pretty safe to assume that this was the owner of the store acting stupidly, dangerously, and offensively to that beagle. So, that's what the store has to do with it.
EDIT: In the comments of the video the uploader also explains that the son is the one at the end who removes the dog (but didn't seem to care about its condition) and that the cage kicking and stomping was in retribution to the son kicking his father's Mercedes in the parking lot.
Personally? I have a bazillion other reasons not to use that store, like their over-aggressive carding policy, crappy selection, over-pricing, useless employee advice on beer and wine choice, and lack of meaningful redemption capacity. About the only thing I can put in their "pros" column is ample parking...but who wants to drive on that part of Harvard and Brighton *anyways*.
Ah, thank you

Because the OWNER of Blanchards in Allston is the alleged abuser, that's why.

"Here is a video of the owner, John Corey, stomping on a dog crate containing his son's beagle puppy. This was apparently in response to his son kicking his Mercedes Benz.
Apparently the MSPCA has already been notified.
What kind of person acts with malicious intent towards a harmless creature because a PERSON did something to one of his possessions? No one i want to give my business to."
How sickening....and disgusting!

Here's hoping the owner of Blanchard's got in big trouble with the MSPCA! It would serve him right! Remind me never to go to Blanchard's if I'm ever in the area and need to purchase liquor.

Tammy at Boston Food and Whine posts a photo of Hunter the beagle dog (and calls for a boycott of the Allston Blanchard's, which, as she reminds us, is not owned by the same people as all the other Blanchard's).
I saw the photograph of Hunter the Beagle.

What a beautiful dog! Glad he survived and is OK. Good for Tammy for calling for a boycott of the Allston Blanchard's. Btw, I admittedly had no idea that there were other Blanchards in Boston that were owned by different members of John Corey's family.
Anyway, here's hoping the dog is able to move about okay, also.
