Everyone is trying to be like Joe everyman right now. In the past these ads would have been done in an office setting, or an impressive looking place that implied power. All of these youtube ads are in kitchens and living rooms, and the Yoon ad is off kilter, he is too far to the left! Oh thats a joke waiting to happen (Im not familiar enough with his politics to know if he is a lefty or not, but if he were that would be quite funny.)
Too far to the left or too tall?

The only distracting thing for me was the fact that the top of his head was cut off for most of the video. But, yeah, easy enough for me to criticize; it's not like I'm running for office myself (or making videos, for that matter).

I think its a reasonable point to make, Im assuming it was done in more then one take. Would it have been that hard to look at it and move the camera back a bit?

Here's a fun experiment to try with a kid
By adamg

Take a photo of Michael Flaherty, show the kid and ask her how old she thinks he is. Then repeat with a photo of Sam Yoon.
I will bet you $100 that you will not get a single kid who correctly identifies both as being 39. One guess which one they'll think is way older and one which they think is way younger (note: Yes, I tried it out on the kidlet and, sure enough, she pegged Flaherty as being around 50, and Yoon as being around 30, which is older than I would have guessed).

I did not know that they were both the same age, very interesting. Im sure its party genetic, and partly it looks like Yoon keeps himself very healthy... Should we punish him for living a healthy lifestyle, which makes him look younger? Also once again the Yoon attacks seem to be coming from Anons... Im no Yoon supporter, but what Ive seen online are allot of anon cheap shots here and elsewhere against him.

An elected school committee will not solve much. It was a mess back in the day.

I grew up in a small city with an elected school board. The "non-partisan" campaigns to get elected to a position promising lots of headaches and a stipend-level salary were hotly contested and at times ugly, and the resulting decisions of the elected body were often infused with politics.
Appointed vs. elected school boards could be one of those six of one, half-dozen of the other situations.

In the past, it was actually the opposite. You had politicians who knew little about the schools running for School Committee as a stepping stone to higher positions.

I didn't mind the drapes or the cut-off of the top of his head. I was interested in his assertion that Boston is famous for politics, sports and revenge, and that politics is the problem. So..... we need more sports and revenge? That one really didn't work, did it?
He's got the Together We Can, Change You Can Believe In zero-content statements down. Now he needs to say what he's going to change from the Mumbles regime.
