Police looking for guy making a little un-urned income in the South End
By adamg on Sun, 11/03/2019 - 12:32pm
Boston Police report they are looking for a guy who double parked his SUV on Rutland Square in the South End, got out and stole a resident's "large iron plant urn" - after first lightening the load by removing the plants, around 12:20 a.m. on Oct. 25.
If the urn man looks familiar, contact detectives at 617-343-5619 or the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or by texting TIP to CRIME (27463).
This is at least the second urn-related crime in the South End in recent weeks. On Oct. 19, a man was arrested on West Newton Street after he allegedly hefted an urn and threw it through one building's door, then took refuge in the basement.

I'm going outside and take in
I'm going outside and take in the urn with grandma's ashes.
Got him
They guy in the cap. He usually steals armoires.
Back in the 90s he was in a gang called the Groundlings. Another Groundling made national news for an arrest in Florida. He got off.
I've been on UH 11 years
This is the funniest comment I've ever seen posted on UH.
Guess you had to be there
"WHOOSH!" (That's the sound of that joke going way, way over my head.)
I can help. These actors appeared together on
several episodes of Seinfeld; in one of them, they stole Elaine's armoire from the sidewalk by just picking it up and walking away with it.
The character in the hat is played by John Paragon, who performed alongside Paul Reubens in both The Groundlings and on Pee-wee's Playhouse (as Jambi the Genie and Pee-wee Herman, respectively.)
What's the return on scrap
What's the return on scrap iron these days?
People like this...
How do we live in a world with people like this? You'd think this guy couldn't make it to this age without raising tons of red flags - no way this is atypical behavior for him. Maybe he is a well known psycho...
What's really annoying
He takes his own sweet time and doesn't seem the least bit concerned about someone seeing him.
The best way to steal
The best way to steal something is to blend in.
If you walked by seeing someone casually removing this object, would you think he was stealing it, or just a landscaper/maintenance worker doing his job?
