This whole venture was doomed from the start, regardless of whether the Globe gave it any support or not. Leave it to the brilliant minds at Morrissey Blvd. to counter WEEI's big play for the online Boston sports market by first hiring Chad Finn (excellent move), and then cutting the legs out from under him by scattering his work far and wide (the TATB blog, the OT print/web column, other apparently random Boston.com sports blog work). Sports blogging has completely exploded, and finding itself far behind the eight ball thanks to a scatter-shot online sports section, the Globe reacts by going retro with a *print* weekly?
They get an unreasonable percentage of the available resources- pages, writers and columnist but they don't have advertising support.
I wish they would just allocate the only the earned income to sports and give us back the local coverage that could make a difference in who is elected and what they get away with while in office.

Umm, uh...okay, I'm a sports fan...
...not a complete nut, mind you, but still playing fantasy baseball and football with college pals of decades ago...
I have never heard of OT.
How tragically predictable...

Just like the regular sport pages...
