Streaming up from Boston on St. Patrick's Day

Dropkick Murphys to stream on Tuesday

The Dropkick Murphys are famous for their annual St. Patrick's Day concert. Times like these mean no concerts, of course - unless you do it from a studio and stream it out over the Internet, which is what they'll be doing at 7 p.m. on Tuesday on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook Live.

I cannot stand these guys.

IMO they're an embarrassing cavalcade of caricatures of the worst Boston stereotypes.

That said, hopefully this starts a trend and we stop seeing lines of invincible and ill-informed young people packed into bars and clubs.

We're where Italy was 2 weeks ago.

It's not coming, it's HERE.

Crack one open. Crank it to 11. Sing Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced until your neighbors complain.

Bonus points: feed your dog some green beer ahead of time for that smell-o-vision ambiance. (/joking)

This is much more significant than the obvious "we don't want to miss out on this concert" aspect. This will give a large number of people a good reason to stay at home on a weekday night rather than go out to try and find something to do to fill the free time void this pandemic has created. This could actually save lives in the long run by helping to flatten the curve.

Last night I watched a concert by lovely local group Windborne
https://www.facebook.com/WindborneSingers/videos/235839744255334/

The Metropolitan Opera is going to be streaming past performances, as are many symphony orchestras.

When you watch a concert, please remember that musicians are losing their livelihoods and make a donation to pay them for the concert.
