The one time in history it's acceptable to cover your face like a bandit, and this guy doesn't do it?

Had restaurants been open, he'd have gotten sushi and not paid, too!

Why have we strayed from the tar-and-feather punishment? Some "minor" but anti-social crimes seem tailor made for stocks, tar-and-feathering, etc.

Now if you’re going for social ostracism maybe you’re looking for something more along the lines of a “scarlett letter?”

Surely this crime doesn't call for death. But I can't imagine that adding some additional type to his record is going to have any effect and it's too expensive to lock him up for any real amount of time.
What about stocks? You could stick him at a construction project near the site of the crime and have the detail cop make sure no one physically harms him. The neighborhood will get a good look at him and he'll be shooed away quickly next time he shows his face. And if he comes out of it with a sore back, well, that's the price of the crime.
