Attitude

The attitude, not the lack of paint or bollards, is the principle problem here:
"If you're a bicyclist, you have to understand, cars are going to hit and kill you."
Huh? What a nasty comment.

Sorry, I just don't think making jokes at the expense of victims is amusing. Sorry to offend you, swrrls. You do you though.

Condolences to the family.
Cummins Hwy. is a road badly in need of redesign. Eliminating two lanes and planting the median with trees would be a good start. More lights to slow traffic would be another.

Good thing the City has a plan that they're preparing to implement soon, which includes a road diet and protected bike lanes!

I've attended more than one meeting about fixing the Walter/Centre intersection in Roslindale - that's still pending years later.
My guess is that all this falls by the wayside once the tax revenue shortfall becomes clear. That's even before the city figures out how to educate 50k kids with only 12 kids per class mind you. I do appreciate that it was planned for though. Just not happening until, like 2026.

Don't hold your breath. They had a plan for Centre Street in West Roxbury too. But it wasn't getting past Marty Walsh, champion of the NIMBYs. Unwilling to sacrifice so much as a single parking spot, let alone those critical, high-speed, passing lanes.

I've never not been harassed or buzzed by too closely while cycling on that road
