DA: Woman got into argument with man in Mass. Ave. park, went to get a knife, then stabbed him to death
Mary Fox, 38, was ordered held without bail on charges she fatally stabbed Michael Dezrick in Clifford Playground on Massachusetts Avenue following what the Suffolk County district attorney called an "insignificant" argument.
According to the DA's office, Fox and Michael Dezrick, 48, argued about something in Clifford Park late Monday night, then returned around midnight with a knife.
Live Boston reports:
Multiple eye witnesses describe to us a terrifying scene as Fox jumped a man without warning who was selling refreshments in the park stabbing him while he was already on the ground.
Dezrick was taken to nearby Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police found and arrested a grinning Fox about 20 minutes after the stabbing.
According to the DA's office, Fox was already out on bail on charges of possession of a dangerous weapon, a knife and stealing a car in Boston Municipal Court and on a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon in Dedham District Court. Her bail on those charges was revoked.
Innocent, etc.

“ following what the Suffolk County district attorney called an "insignificant" argument.”
Why does the haughty district attorney think his/her opinion is significant?
Just give us the facts and spare us the superior attitude, please.
Her.
Her.
And while I do not have access to the statement from DA Rollins' office, I think I can safely assume she means the literal meaning of the word. Perhaps a better synonym could have been used, such as "trivial."
Get a load of Sergeant Friday over here.
We get it, you don't like Rachel Rollins.
Somebody needs to get over themselves
And that isn't the DA.
"Superior attitude"? "Haughty?" Nice dogwhistles there, honey.
How could Rollins have
How could Rollins have possibly known the entirety of what transpired between the two? Her uninformed opinion is unwelcome.
Uniformed opinion? She's the
Uniformed opinion? She's the head of the prosecuting office, which would take the facts and circumstances from the police investigation of the case to court.
Court would be an *awesome*
Court would be an *awesome* place to learn more about what actually happened.
I'm guessing the DA figured
saying "arguing over dumb sh*t" wasn't going to fly in the press release.
It’s part of establishing the
It’s part of establishing the depraved nature of the act to a jury, that the defendant would murder over something so trivial. Get over yourself and learn something about litigating a case.
"to a jury" bug off
"to a jury"
bug off
Serious question
What verbal argument would be "significant" enough to merit stabbing someone? I don't think a threat would have applied, given that the perpetrator apparently was able to leave the scene in order to get a weapon.
I'm not familiar with the
I'm not familiar with the particularities of MA law, but in some jurisdictions you have concepts such as "fighting words" or "crimes of passion" that establish mitigation, lowering a murder to second-degree or manslaughter. An argument over a revelation of an illicit affair, or someone intentionally trying to goad another into a fight with a litany of targeted insults, is going to be regarded differently than an argument over a paperclip.
At least her bail is revoked
At least her bail is revoked now. She can't kill anyone else right now.
Recovery Road
About a year ago I actually believed that the great work the team of nurses, doctors social workers and police officers were doing in the area known as the methadone mile would change the name to one of hope called recovery road.
Do to several factors including the virus and the lack of proactive policing the area has become a combination of sin city and zombie land.
It never was in recovery.
It never was in recovery. There was a 2 week PR blitz that displaced the afflicted into surrounding neighborhoods, which complained about all the camping and needles left in playgrounds, and then they came back.
Every person Narcan gets used on needs to be sent to a recovery center as a suicidal person. The revolving door of outpatient clinical services isn't working.
What kind of refreshments
are being served in a park at midnight?
