Girl found by police, EMTs

OMG, that was totally me as a kid. My parents had to install locks at the top of the doors that I couldn't reach. Glad to hear it ended ok.

As cute and adorable as she is, they should not have taken a thousand million photos that include her face. This is intentional copaganda.

Cops didn’t take the pictures.

I'm sure she had some grand idea of what she was doing/going to do. Definitely dressed to the nines!

Certainly better dressed than my brother was when he decided to streak the trailer park at 6 am as a two year old.

Good to see that she was found safe and had a mostly good adventure. Her family must be happy to have her home again.

I wonder if Thursday was supposed to have been her first day of school or pre-K or something, but in-person postponed - didn't have the expected big start with best clothes and a photo like used to, didn't get to go out, so she decided to dress up and go out!

Life is hard and we try to find enjoyment any way we can. Glad she is safe Boston is a caring city for the most part so as scary as they may feel a lot of these situations end like this thank GOD!

Is it just me, or is that a really big 4 year old?

There are variations in sizes at that age. Now, if she were looking down on the cop rather than the cop looking down on her, that would be really big for a 4 year old.

I look at non-Maine Coon cats and wonder why they are so tiny!

There is quite a range in the growth curves for four year olds. 3'8" tall and 48lbs are the 95th percentiles for height and weight for girls at age 4 1/2.

A lot depends on genetics - she might not look so big if you saw her parents or grandparents with her. My husband is a tall person. His siblings are tall and married tall people. Their kids were all over 4' tall going into first grade. My nieces are both 5'11", my nephews are 6'5" and 6'6". My boys seemed smaller by comparison.

How do you get from saying "she's not a big kid" to "there are variations in sizes at that age"? That's the logical equivalent of Cartman saying "I'm not fat, I'm festively plump."

99th percentile for 5 year old girls is about 47", which is how tall she looks in the photos.

In addition to the general idea that kids grow in different ways, meaning, as you quote me, there are variations in size at that age.

My wife is taller than average, but few would say she is tall.

Also, 47 inches is a specific heigh to be estimating her as. Without knowing the dimensions of others in the photo, all sizes are guesses. Pedroia was a midget next to Ortiz. A six foot basketball player looks short next to a seven footer, and those are absolute measurements.

Definitely just you.

You don't know this kid's genetic makeup to make that assumption. My three-nager is about 40in but my husband is 6'5" so makes sense. Maybe the cop is short, haha. All kids are different

My daughter and her same-age first cousin were at least that tall at 4.

humanity. That acts of kindness and compassion still happen in a screwed up world.

that a little girl trusts the BPD, as she should.

The parent likely hasn't given her the talk yet, she will likely get a talk soon. This could have been a very tragic story and I am glad all ended well.

Please provide examples of the police killing four year old girls.

I’m a minority and I’m going to pass on the same “talk” to my kids that my dad passed on to me:

“Hey, if you ever get pulled over, be nice, it might get you out of a ticket, and make sure to keep your hands visible cause traffic stops can be scary for them.” The end.

White people always think Black kids/people look older, stronger, more mature than they really are. You're comment is ridiculous!!!

My 3 yr old niece kept going off the screened in porch at granny’s so we installed a hook and eye lock at the top of the door.
She used a broom handle to open the lock. thank goodness we caught her before she got out again!
Kids are smart! And sometimes very determined.
Glad she is safe at home.

It states that there was a search for her but she was found and at home but nobody called 911 to call off the search, but then it goes on about the officer that found the child.

No. It states that another family found her, brought her inside their house, and for some reason posted on social media instead of calling 911.

Eventually through social media it became apparent that a family had located the girl and had her safe and sound in their home. They had posted on social media that they had found her however seemingly did not think to call 911.
