A Black man out for a jog down leafy VFW Parkway in West Roxbury today reports he was stopped by three guys who got out of an SUV and tried to ask him questions and asked for his ID, at least until he took out his phone and began recording them - after they showed him badges that read "ICE" [See video].
Then, Bena Apreala reports, through a posting in the Keep Roslindale Quirky Facebook group, he asked "we're all set, sir?" and all three replied "yeah" and one told him to "enjoy his run," and he began to walk away. But then, one of the men began pointing a walkie-talkie at him and asked, "Do you have any tattoos on your left or right arms to confirm?"
He responded, "Am I free to go?" They didn't answer this time, but he again began to walk away, this time adding, "If I'm free to go then I'm not showing you anything, thank you. Have a great day guys."
Across the parkway, somebody began recording the scene as well.
According to the posting by his partner, the men pulled up, got out and said they wanted to ask him some questions:
He asked them if they were BPD and they said no and showed him their official badges. They said he fit a description of someone they were investigating and asked for his name and ID.
She added:
When Ben learned they were ICE he said “I’m not who you’re looking for I was born and raised in Boston†and they replied “that’s not all we doâ€. They were mostly civil except at first he said he wasn’t giving them any info and if he was free to go and they said no until they can confirm his identity. Once he told him his name and where he lived they were more civil.

A relative in California sent me a video of two guys getting out of an Uber and harassing someone until a large group holding an arts event came over, demanded ID and warrants, and surrounded the person being harassed. Then ICE did show up because the vigilantes decided to harass further with murder by illegal raid. ICE did not have warrants (of course) and so they were forced to leave when the city police showed up.
What I don't get is why they are harassing black people if immigration is their concern. Of course we all know that it isn't about immigration and is weaponized bigotry and terrorism.

I also get a strong vibe of 2nd amendment NH types with absolutely nothing better to do, playing dress-up and testing the waters to see how much they can get away with before election day.. they act a lot like the "border militia" down south who also enjoy pretending to be government agents.
If they were ICE, not only would their little tactical outfits look more similar than they do, they would also probably have the word "ICE" on them somewhere; and if they were "undercover", they wouldn't have been nonchalantly openly questioning random passers-by while wearing tactical gear.
ICE agents are thugs, but they should be capable of performing a stop (these guys aren't), and this doesn't match with how they usually operate.

I'm sure the last thing on his mind during something like that is holding his phone sideways (you really have to think to do that). Also, while UHub is hardly at the forefront of anything, even here, I've noticed that most visitors are now coming in via phones (specifically phones, not tablets) and most people tend to look at their phones vertically, so as much as I love that old friends-don't-let-friends-do-vertical-video video, I have to accept that reality.

ICE is already legally capable of executing police powers within 100 miles of an international border. This doesn't stop them from acting outside the law by acting outside their jurisdiction.
As Trump politicizes every Federal agency that affects his ability to "rule" he, early on, politicized ICE. It now is his open secret police charged with harassing anyone deemed worth of their attention.
Given that Trump's supporters believe in domestic terror, violence, bigotry, harassment, etc. there is no surprise that Trump bigots would pretend to be ICE agents so that they can enjoy the sadistic pleasure of harassing a black man.
