Boston Police report arresting a man they say used a box cutter to hold up somebody on Adams Street in Dorchester last night - only to find the victim had just a quarter - and then punched another person who refused to give him any money at all.
Police say Manuel Andrade, 37, of Dorchester, was hanging out in front of the Domino's, 205 Adams St. in Dorchester, shortly before 9:50 p.m. when he stopped a man walking by while wielding a box cutter and demanded money.
The victim stated that he told Andrade he did not have any money before handing him his wallet and a quarter. Andrade looked through the wallet, and gave it back when he saw that it was empty.
Police say Andrade approached another man and tried a gentler approach - only asking him for money without threatening him with a box cutter. But, the victim told police:
When he refused, Andrade punched him and hit him. Andrade also tried to punch a witness who attempted to break up the altercation.
Andrade was arrested by officers responding to a report of a fight across the street from the Domino's - the fight involved Andrade, the second victim and the bystander, police say.
Andraded, police say, did not take well to being placed under arrest, screaming at officers on the ride to C-11 for booking, refusing to get out of the cruiser and then kicking one officer repeatedly in the chest even as he threatened to kill officers.
He was charged with armed robbery, assault and battery on a police officer with a dangerous weapon - shod foot - assault and battery, resisting arrest and threatening to commit a crime, police say, adding he was also charged with possession of a $100 counterfeit bill officers found on him.
Innocent, etc.
