A Boston ICU filled up yesterday and hospital staffers spent nine hours trying to find a bed somewhere else for a Covid-19 patient
A couple of dispatches from the Covid-19 front lines.
Dr. Sharma Joseph is a critical-care physician and anesthesiologist at Tufts Medical Center. Yesterday, she reported:
Last night the ED spent 9 hours trying to find a hospital that who would take a COVID positive patient in respiratory distress because I had no ICU beds in my unit. Please stop traveling. Please stop gathering.

Dr. Lakshman Swamy is a pulmonary and critical care physician with the Cambridge Health Alliance:
My heart always skips a beat when I load the chart to follow up on a patient from the last time I was in the ICU. With covid this comes up so much, sometimes unexpectedly... Feel so crushed. I thought you were getting better. pic.twitter.com/fZ1jEQemrP

Anger burning
Where are those animals who spent all spring, summer, and fall telling us it is all a big hoax?
If there’s another Super Happy Fun America rally I hope that something truly terrible happens to everyone attending it.
Bad Karma
Whishing ill on people of any stripe does nothing but create bad karma. Surely you can do something more constructive with your thoughts.
Oh, shove it would you
N/t
Surely...
Surely you can do something more constructive than yours than preachy, sanctimonious, misspelled comments.
Amazing
It amazes me that there are people defending the wish that "something truly terrible" happens to people. Are we supposed to believe those are normal thoughts?
They're still right where they were
Bleating the same ignorant schtick to the same people by the same channels. I don't actually know if they believe their own bullshit, or if they're just cynical assholes who are happy parroting propaganda from their own tribe. In a way, it doesn't matter, because we have to treat them the same way regardless.
As to your second point, we can at least take some cold solace in knowing that the GOP is overwhelmingly made up of older men, and their enthusiasm for meeting up in big unmasked groups in the middle of a pandemic is killing them off fast enough that it might create a measurable demographic blip and political impact.
Except...
Not the major players, it isn't. They have only the best of care and they're surviving in spite of their appalling choices.
The only problem is, however....
that these assholes, regardless of their age(s) who insist on not wearing masks and meeting closely in large groups, are sickening and killing off other people as well.
As a friend of mine pointed
As a friend of mine pointed out this afternoon, we don't have to like those people--neither she nor I does--but to keep ourselves safe we need to at least try to keep them safe too.
Please, please protect yourself and others!
Stay home! I'm hearing so many heartbreaking stories. Someone who met up with a friend shortly before Thanksgiving, then saw his father for the holiday - friend had COVID-19, gave it to him and he gave it to his father. Friend and father died.
If you meet with people, you are risking the lives of others, not just yourself! Please give your loved ones the holiday present of not getting them sick or killing them or those they love.

Eeewwww!
Horrible...but funny!
It's disgusting that so many people really don't give a shit.
It's a small wonder that the Covid-19 virus pandemic is running so rampant and out of control here in the United States at large. Sweden, btw, has a rather similar problem.
Here they are, the culprits
