The ability to be good at playing football does not make someone a hero, he's just another part of the entertainment industry, not that there's anything wrong with that, it has its value and place in our society. But it's not like he ran into a burning building to save someone who was trapped, volunteered as a medic in a war zone, or donated an organ to someone who was going to otherwise die. Let's save the hero talk to people whose accomplishments are actually heroic, rather than an entertainer fulfilling his role as an entertainer.

Oh, am I making an assumption here? Well, anybody who actually lives here might recall what happened Nov. 7, when Biden was declared the winner in Pennsylvania and Nevada, making him the president elect, so only somebody from far away might even ask a question like that (or a dejected loser Trumpie, but I wouldn't dream of insulting you like that).
Davis Square celebrated Biden's win like pretty much everywhere else in the Boston area, people did, in fact, get out in the streets to celebrate (scroll down the story at that link for a couple of videos from, yes, Davis Square).

I'd say that's true when it's the same teams winning since there are probably rules (or meta-rules?) that allow them to consolidate talented players in one place.
But this is a guy who won a lot on one team and then went to another an won. I'm not sure what rules are wrong.
Personally, I think they should make the ball spherical patchwork of pentagons and hexagons, stop using their hands, remove endzones in favor of, let's call them "goals", and stop wearing all of those pads. I'm not sure too many others agree though.

Brady's politics stayed away from the stadium and he hasn't used his career to actively promote his views. It's not like he was wearing a MAGA hat during the National Anthem. Most people don't have unlimited freedom to express political speech at work, either.
Kaep's 2016 season (when he started taking a knee during the anthem) was a dumpster fire. The 49ers went 1-10 with him as the starter. He got injured in 2015 and had surgery in the offseason so that would have been a factor.
So couple polarizing political views and a lackluster return from injury and there you have it.

But I was rooting for Mahomes last night. It was interesting to be basically rooting against Brady, so I got the feeling of what the rest of the American football loving world has gone through over the past 19 years. I also got that feeling of how great a quarterback Brady is.
I still came away thinking that Mahomes is the future. Even under pressure, he was surprisingly accurate with his passing. If only he could get some protection, he could have a dynasty in KC.
