No snow in Boston, they said ...

April snow in Roslindale

Then again, they did say more snow at the higher elevations, and we're three-quarters of the way up a hill in Roslindale, so.

Except John Hanzl reports snow way down there on the plains of the South End.

Upstairs at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping reports big wet flakes in Jamaica Plain as well, asks: "Although if there are no space savers, is it really snow?"

Flakes down by the harbor, too, Nicholas Bauer reports.

"I can hear my garden dying," Jessica Burko sighs.

Shane Curcuru apologizes to Boston, because he forget to alert us he'd just taken his snow tires off. Josh Segal says, no, blame him, because he put his snow blower away last weekend.

But I made biscuits and they were amazing. With maple butter.

We were caught without bread. Fortunately, the last of the matzoh to the rescue with some French matzoh brei.

(sorry I don't have any bread so pancake mix will have to do. I do have real vermont maple syrup made by a friend's hubby tho!)

"Just add water" pancake mix is the best pantry stuffer. Ya other stuff that you add milk/eggs to is better, but this is something you can put in a canning jar & seal and it will last for years.

And in a pinch besides pancakes, it can be used in place of small amounts of flour (i.e. rolling out dough, dusting/greasing pans, etc)

Just yesterday, I was saying to myself that I should put my snow shovels back in the shed and move my cross-country skis from the front door back down to the cellar for their annual hibernation.

How could they be expected to know anything?

We were caught completely off guard what with all the forecasters calling for rain here and snow only thataway, out past 495.

Not so great last weekend when it was in the 70s … hope you didn't take a couple years off those tires with a road trip on Saturday!

The noise after a few days would drive me nuts.

My dad (in rural NH) has "winter tires" (studded) and as soon as the final snow fall has melted away, they come off. The noise they make (reverberation in the car).

Also My dad, angry he took them off and put his snow blower away last weekend.

I thought snow tires were for Mainers and Canadians. Do people here really change tires twice a year?

It depends on the car

I get a tire shop to do it, and they store the off-season ones for me. Winter tires really are better in cold weather and on actual snow.

They were wrong.
