As Boston as a cream pie

Shamus Moynihan forwards this photo of a sidewalk billboard on Comm. Ave. in Allston's Packards Corner. Yes, they were obviously thinking of something like this, but the phrase does have another meaning.

I don't get it.

But if you're a cat and curiosity gets the better of you, go to Urban Dictionary and look up the phrase (just without "Boston" at the beginning).

Disgusting and unfortunate association, likely indicative of a porn addiction, or at least too much porn on the mind.

Oh they have an OnlyFans account at @HotFreedomTrailAction

Its all guys dressed up in 1776 era petticoats getting all frisky along the trail. You should see one of them's bunker hill monument... it's... tall & impressive.

And they do like cream pies.. erm Boston Cream Pies.

I'll speak not just for myself here: We are tired of seeing Shamus Moynihan name everywhere. What are they even running for?

up

And has even done his part to make life better here. So gets a pass.

If you're tired of seeing his name, I'm sure you can find a perfectly fine site in Athol or Belchertown or wherever to spend your time on.

They aren't that far apart.

If they do play each other, those games must have great heckling.

UPDATE: They are!!

Adam, how dare you publish content from people who bring you information from around the city that your readers may find interesting or entertaining! Horrible, just horrible!

Who exactly, other than yourself, are you speaking on behalf of? We don't even know who *you* are, unlike say, Shamus Moynihan or myself.

Cf “cake by the ocean”.

And when made on halloween it is called a Boo Cake.

Or as those silly texting kids spell it, bukkake.

I've talked for years about starting a business that allows people to run things by 12-year-old boys of all ages and genders. Advertisements, menus, sermons...all sorts of stuff out there that really could use this.

Honestly I often wonder if companies just ran their ideas by their staff and allowed comments to be made blindly without anyone else knowing who made the comment this stuff could be avoided. I could imagine this being presented and some 30 year old ad executive having to suppress a chuckle as to not come off as a creep.

Oftentimes people in charge don't care even if someone speaks up. I've been that person who spoke up and was shamed for even thinking that. Only for us to get burned later.

recently, at an event planning session where someone had proposed a session title that made me snicker.

"It may be the first workshop of the day," I offered, "But I don't think 'Wake Up with [all-women panel]' is quite how you want to describe it. Phrasing?" (A couple of people on the call actually got that reference.)

I was met with one indignant reaction, effectively, "Ugh, only someone with a Y chromosome would think that." I countered, "Look, if it occurred to me, it will occur to at least 250 other people there." (The projected event attendance is 500.)

They changed it.

At my next meeting I will suggest we require all employees involved in community relations watch a superclip of Archer phrasing bits.

Why does the Freedom Trail need to advertise itself in Boston? Are there really that many people in Packards Corner who aren't aware of it?

up

The Packard's Corner neighborhood is full of people new to Boston right now...

Much to the chagrin of the student residents.

IMHO, the sorts of people who walk the Freedom trail (younger school kids and older adults) are not the ones to initially think of the other cream pie reference anyway.

Wasn't Boston Cream Pie invented on the freedom trail? It goes right by the Parker House.

You can get a creampie and a parker house roll there.
