I've seen rabbits on the Greenway and among the foliage on some of the leafier/greener parts of wharves along the water, so maybe he just had a little bit too much fermented carrot juice at some Faneuil Hall bar and before you knew it, he'd managed to hop up the City Hall steps ...
The population was exploding, until the hawks assumed their niche in the ecosystem, harvested, and ate their fill. Now the sparrows and starlings appear more furtive in their ways.
