It's completely ridiculous, but here's the answer:

It's right on the Brookline line, so it probably gets a fair number of customers from there as well.

Brookliners are probably the culprits. There's a reason why the Toucher and Rich 911 segment is called "Everyone's Angry in Brookline."

They’re likely not all from the same place. And why does it even matter which side of the line the obnoxious people live on?

I'm tired.. still..
So we've come to this? We need signs telling people not to be assholes?
They are asking to wear a mask and not to be a dick about it. Is this just that hard?
I fear that in a few years this is gonna escalate to big whiney babies causing a scene just to get their way.
You know like me if I went into McDonald's and threw a fit because they didn't have the McRib the day after the promo ended.
Its my fault that I missed out or didn't 'read the rules' of the promotion. But I'll still continue to berate the employees and store management who have no control over that policy because it makes me feel better.
See how this is gonna work?
Do you think this is new?

Do you think this is new? It isn't. Ask anyone in a service job.

I realized after I posted this that this has been going on for as long as service jobs have existed. (I worked a few myself)
But the signs are new tho. Plus I think the general assholishness of people has been dialed up due to the mask and vax issue.
Oh, agreed

Indeed, where normal people see something to get over, to an asshole the presence of a mask requirement is another asshole hill to die on.
Entitled assholes

Society is already full of big whiney babies causing a scene just to get their own way.
One of my friends mentioned that his wife and autistic son (both wearing masks) were accosted by teenagers who got in their faces and attempted to tear the mask off of the teenager.
That is assault (and, if they actually touched him, battery).
Entitled assholes threatening and intimidating and bullying people they perceive as being inferior - or, at least, weaker.
This report is more of the same.
What is wrong with these sociopaths?
I don't think it's new

It was there in October the last time I went there with my daughter, because I remember her reading it and loudly announcing, "That makes me sad. People are JERKS."
Humanity has NOT impressed her these past few years.
That sign has been there for

That sign has been there for about a year. I’ve also seen similar signs in many other establishments all over the city so it’s not just a West Roxbury thing. Being rude to customer service workers is a terrible thing and I would ban any customer who gave one of my employees shit about anything at all, especially for following rules set by licensing agents (City of Boston).
But, this post does fit your weird “people in West Roxbury are the worst of the worst” so I guess it works. Good job
This one can't be blamed on

This one can't be blamed on homeless beligerent person or person who can't even afford ice cream. The clientele of JP Licks is letting their true colors show if they're verbally assaulting or worse the employees. Shame on you for being a hypocrite harassing people who are not as privileged as you!
