Plaid tear
Funnest live shows I’ve ever been to. Consistently good and generous. Will always remember the sweating overhead pipes from the packed Middle East Throwdowns. Never intended to end up in the pit, but they drew you in and I always did.
Thanks, guys….
Here's hoping this is the
Here's hoping this is the precursor to an Impact Unit reunion.
Thank You.
Ever say that to a band? Always a good time. No pretension unlike that "Boston" band who pass themselves off as D Street Project Rats even though they all grew up in small towns and single family houses in Milton.
A few of the guys lived in an apartment building on Gardiner Street in Allston in 1991 - 1992. It was the most fun place on the planet then. 150 23 year olds not caring but being creative at the same time.
The ultimate irony with them was hearing The Impression I Get on a Catholic radio station a few years ago in CT.
For those of you who want to know what the Seaport looked like in 1990. Here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjPB3jROgco
Yes I have said that to a
Yes I have said that to a band, John Costello. I like musicians.
Ditto
I tell them -- And I take photos that they can use however they wish.
I hope the dancer dude ends
I hope the dancer dude ends up alright
Don't worry, now he can
Don't worry, now he can finally pursue some solo projects.
Chick who tended bar at The Avenue recently
Dates one of them. I felt more like a Bostonian for having known her and that fact than I've felt since COVID started and made me increasingly isolated.
I enjoyed a bunch of their shows over the years. It
looks like the band might have broken up over Dicky's association with a famously rabid anti-vaxxer with roots in the area.
(If true, what an idiotic way to go out.)
No more Kimmel, either
News of Barrett’s “retirement” from being Jimmy Kimmel’s anouncer is dated yesterday’s date. Something is definitely up.
UMass concert
I think this was one of the most violent concerts at the UMass Student Union ballroom. I was lucky enough to have all of my larger male friends surrounding me while others were slam dancing all over the place. I think the concert was cut short because of this.
Good times… good times….
My favorite Dicky story
was when the young singer of another local band (that eventually became an arguably even bigger success) walked into Taang when it was on Comm Ave.
Dicky jumped up as if everyone would be so excited to meet him for some odd reason and belted out "HEY GUYS IM DICKY BARRETT FROM THE BOSSTONES" as if anyone cared.
That kid looked at Dicky and without missing a beat said, "...like I give a %@#$" and walked away.
Leaving Dicky standing all by himself like a Doofus.
Anyway, get vaccinated.
And here we were all thinking...
...that nothing good would come out of the pandemic. (ducks)
