Allegedly Kraft has allegedly leaked that Brady will allegedly come back to the Patriots for his alleged actual final alleged retirement. So maybe he is giving this moment to the Bucs.
Or maybe rumors are fake and he is cold as ice.
This was pretty short nor did he thank anyone at all, including his family. This isn't his hall of fame speech, it's a brief retirement announcement. Some fans need to get over themselves.
I don't really care either way, never been too interested in football myself, but statistics always interest me.
His announcement was posted as 8 panels of text, about 3 full pages related to his last two years of playing in Tampa... That's almost 40% of his message. Feels a bit odd to dedicate 40% to less than 10% of his career, and 0% of his message about 91% of his career...
I meant 5 Super Bowls in New England. My overall point is that TB could say “Rot in Hell, New England. Dunkin’ sucks. You all talk like rejected Departed extras. Go choke on a lobster” for all I care. The fan base got more than it could realistically hope for, yet some still need more.
Traffic Alert!
All snow removal operations - roads, sidewalks, crosswalks, bus stops, school drop off zones, and bike lanes - in Boston will be suspended effective 11 AM today. All equipment and personnel will be prioritized, mandatory overtime, to clear Boylston Street for the Tom Brady rolling rally on Thursday! Tune up the duck boats!
This parade CAN NOT wait until a more convenient day when the kids aren't supposed to be in school - Tom has a plane to catch to a tropical climate on Friday!!
Okay, did a little more looking...
Average is apparently less than 4 years - maybe 3.3 or less. Not surprising that average differs depending on position played - QB and kickers are a lot more protected.
A few articles also point out that the figure is for all players - landmarks in achievement tend to mean longer careers. According to one...
.
Players who make a team’s opening day roster in his rookie season average a six-year career.
A player on a team’s roster for at least three games in at least three seasons plays for an average of 7.1 years.
First-round draft picks have average careers of 9.3 years.
The average career length skyrockets to 11.7 years for a player who is chosen for or plays in a Pro Bowl at least once in his career.
Teams might have 90 players at start of training camp, trimmed to 53-man roster by opening day. Some of those cut stay on practice squads, get picked up as injury replacements....
Funny thing is, even though I watched nearly every one of his Michigan games, no one knew who he was his rookie year. (Full disclosure - My friends and I sent emails to each other on how psyched we were when they drafted him. No lie. This texting thing had not caught on yet).
He would hang out in Adams Corner and eat at Blasi's and have some beers. He was living over in Marina Bay. After the first Super Bowl win he had to move because women were randomly yelling up to the building in which he lived stating their sexual objectives with him.
Based on what he has turned into physically and his nutritional m.o., I think his intestines would explode today if Blasi's was still around and he scarfed one of their Chicken Parms. The three beers he had at the Tampa parade last year were testimony to that.
Thanks for the memories. I still can't believe the third world inter island ferry known as The New England Patriots turned into yacht the Sultan of Brunei would be proud of.
nevermind John Hannah, Stanley Morgan, Russ Francis, Andre Tippet, Raymond Clayborn ...
Bobby Orr never thought he was the center of the universe, and he had every bit as much influence on the game of hockey as Brady did with football. Tommy Boy can stay in Florida.
Great to hear this titan of Tampa Bay is enjoying his retirement lap so much. I wonder where this fella played before Florida? His 57 tweets vaguely hint that there was a universe prior to 2000...
I don't understand why locals have so much emotion invested in the guy once he left. As far as I can tell he didn't care about New England or his adoring fans. If anything, he seemed to despise them.

Here's what he should do:
Wait until the 2022 season, come back to Foxboro, sign a one-day contract, drop kick a point-after, and "officially" retire.

Yeah...
I don't think he is going to do the one-day contract thing. :(

Brief?

What more do we want?
Brady won 5 Super Bowls and gave us 20 years. Who cares what he said leaving the Bucs.
Let’s not be needy.
Six
And one with the bucs... but who is counting. Lol
Indeed

Still wrong
You’re still wrong. He won a total of 7 SBs and 6 with the Pats.
Ok.
.
Maybe sit this one out?
Instead of doubling down.
He won a bunch
Let's leave it at that. :)
Whom?
So I'm guessing he's not thinking about running for office here in the Bay State?
Given that he sold his pied-a-terre in Brookline ...
I'm guessing not.
Tampa
When he initially moved down to Tampa he said he’ll never live somewhere cold again. Can’t blame him.
My wife and I are in the same boat. However, we both love to ski so we have numerous Park City trips already planned to scratch that itch.

Bradys come and go.
But space savers are forever.
Now that he is retired
Tom Brady could be used as a space saver.
22 years...
That is amazing even without all his success.
What is the average NFL career?
Indeed
Hope he has a great retirement and that his brain is okay.

Half the Patriots games in the 80s weren’t televised…
…because of the stupid NFL rule that stations couldn’t broadcast the market’s home team if games weren’t sold out. Hell of a way to build a fan base.

I don't watch football but I even felt the sting w/ Tom not acknowledging the Patriots or more importantly the fans...not too classy on his part.
