Coke dealer with a stash house on Mt. Ida Road in Dorchester gets three years in prison

A Roxbury man who admitted to helping run a cocaine ring that stored its drugs at a house at 23 Mt. Ida Rd. in Dorchester was sentenced to 37 months in prison yesterday, the US Attorney's office reports.

Luis Mejia Guerrero, 61, pleaded guilty in December to conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Luis Alfredo Baez, who ran the ring with Guerrero, got 41 months at his sentencing last June. Both were charged as part of a broader investigation into Brockton drug kingpin Djuna Goncalves, who pleaded guilty last October and who is scheduled for sentencing on May 19.

According to the US Attorney's office, the two local men also supplied smaller dealers in Dorchester's Bowdoin/Geneva area, at least before state troopers, at the request of the FBI, stopped a third man in the ring on Morrissey Boulevard at Malibu Beach while his wife was driving him and their young child - allegedly on the theory that police would be less likely to stop a car driven by a woman with a child.

The investigation identified Guerrero and other members of his Boston-based drug cell as cocaine suppliers to Goncalves’s crew. Guerrero and others distributed cocaine on a daily basis out of a stash house in Dorchester. Intercepted communications indicated that Guerrero negotiated cocaine deals for co-conspirators and delivered drugs to customers. In May 2019, Guerrero was arrested along with his partner, Luis Alfredo Baez, after a kilogram of cocaine being transported to the stash house was intercepted.

There's never a shortage of coke in the world, is there? Crazy. Despite how dangerous iy is to produce it, process it, export it, distribute it, and ultimately consume it.
