Two kids charged with taking over Orange Line PA system and smacking the head of a person who objected

Transit Police report arresting two 14-year-olds they say broke into the cab of a car on the Orange Line and began screaming obscenities over the train PA system on Wednesday morning.

They were also charged with smacking a passenger who yelled at them that they should be in school, police say.

Police say that around 9:55 a.m., officers responded to the Green Street station on a report of juveniles who had broken into a cab and who were "using vulgar, offensive and sexually charged language on the PA system" - the latest such report on the T in recent weeks.

At Green Street, police say, the officers were met by a woman who reported:

While traveling on an Orange Line train between Jackson Sq. and Stony Brook two juvenile males were making vulgar announcements over the train's PA system. When the train arrived at Green Street Station an adult passenger on the train yelled at the juveniles "You need to be in school!". Following that comment the reporting party was struck in the back of the head by the juveniles. The juveniles also made additional comments relative to what they (juveniles) wanted the reporting party/victim to do to them sexually.

Officers then arrested the pair, on charges of assault and battery and trespassing, then took them to Transit Police headquarters on Southampton for booking and to call their guardians to come pick their alleged miscreants up.

Someone should tell these delinquents that when they use their students passes the Transit Police can track them and catch them to prevent further mischief.

Dope slaps all around. Can't wait how they "disrupt" some additional public amenities.

Maybe a little more creative thought, next time. And one minute devoted to operational security. Study some MIT pranking and add some politics to your message. A torrent of cusses on the P.A. isn't gonna cut it these days.

Streaking is fun... try that!

P.S. National Naked Hiking Day is June 21st.

I was on a train when this happened, and it was the most fun I had all last month. The kids were off the wall hilarious. I don’t care, there should be no punishment for this if the conductor leaves the door unlocked!

14 year olds are gonna 14 year old.

In the back of the head?

Weren’t they spewing racists stuff, in addition to the normal vulgarities? Thought I read that when this incident was first reported.

I was thinking similar when I first heard this happen, 14 y/o me would also likely talk shit over the PA system if I found the door open. The entire situation sounded like something kids would do. Parents will have to answer to them

Do the right thing and call the Transit Police and tell them you were a witness and you chuckled when an innocent female was smacked and taunted with racial and sexual slurs. I'm sure the Judge the DA and the victim will appreciate your assistance.

It was the mbta pa system. How could anyone understand?

Because the kids were probably talking clearly. It isn't the PA system that is the problem. It's the T drivers who do not know how to speak into them. Some sound downright resentful at having to speak at all, some mumble incoherently, and ALL click off before the announcement is finished.
