New York firm buys Hyde Park mall with room for expansion
Urban Edge Properties of New York has purchased the Shops at Riverwood on River Street at the Mattapan Line for $32.9 million from Finard Properties, which started building the mall on the grounds of a sprawling former paper mill in 2008.
The eight-acre parcel where the Bay State Paper plant used to be still has plenty of room for expansion beyond the Price Rite supermarket, Santander bank branch, Burger King, Planet Fitness and other stores and offices Finard built.
However, Urban Edge Properties - not affiliated with the local Urban Edge, which builds non-profit housing - did not say what its plans for the open land are, except to note that plans for a previously announced Starbucks at the site are continuing.

Hopefully
there will be room for Taco Bell. Just wait 'til these dudes and dudesses from NYC get introduced to the community process in this neck of the woods.
Interesting
This site is directly across the street from a Middle and High School, hopefully they get input from the youth voice.
Is this an actual mall?
Meaning, a place where you walk indoors between stores?
It's as much a mall as Legacy Place or Patriot Place
Just without all the people driving around in their BMWs looking for a place to park outside the PF Chang's.
But to answer your question, no, there's no indoor-mall component, as much as the southern half of Boston needs a Spencer Gifts.
