How did this attack happen when the station is closed? Starting August 19 all the orange line stations will be open 24 hrs for the construction crews to get their work done. After midnight the orange line stations will be complete chaos unless they provide 24 hour security.

I think they'll be open for construction workers. I don't expect that the general public is free to roam around.

I'm sure the stations won't be "open" to the general public. There are bigger issues to worry about than this.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Those of us who ride the Orange Line and have so for the past few years have seen this guy putting on the sob story and asking for change, REGULARLY. He used to get on a Stony Brook and sometimes Green Street. File with Spare Change Guy, Screaming Jesus Guy, etc.
