24/7 strike at Comm. Ave. Starbucks going on a month now

The Daily Free Press reports unionized workers at the Starbucks at 874 Commonwealth Ave. walk a picket line 24 hours a day, in part to foil management from having unionized truck drivers making deliveries at random times - the drivers have said they won't cross picket lines.

I'm surprised
Starbucks hasn't just closed that location outright in response as they did in other markets.

Lots of people with mumsy and daddy's money coming back in two weeks.
I can't wait for the reaction of Jessica from Syosset or Ali from Dubai when she and he can't get their coffee after Labor Day. The interaction with the liberal to a point where it effects them students and the strikers will be pure gold. I am sure Starbucks is trying to wait out the strikers rather than close this location.

Ultimately, how do they keep the location open? There's no point in a Starbucks which doesn't serve coffee or anything else.

You really think college kids, even rich foreign college kids, are so vain as to yell at the people striking to get back to work?
Some students will support the people striking. Others will ignore them and go to a starbucks a few blocks away. No one is going to claim the picketers are depriving them of coffee.

Hey if Johnathan ever gets around to being a tourist in this part of town, he can stop by and wave hi in support of the strikers much like I have riding by on the commute to work.
Cause lets be real, the shield of his keyboard won't be there to protect him.
To be fair...
...most college kids, especially rich foreign college kids, have never seen a picket line and wouldn't know what they were looking at. So it's hard to predict their reaction.
Having worked with college kids
They aren't as clueless as you think. Most of the striking workers are only a few years out of college themselves. And even the rich foreign students don't pick fights regarding domestic issues like that. They seriously don't care.
The workers at that location are smart: There are few locations in Massachusetts that will get them as much sympathy, support, and media as that spot. (A block away from WBUR, no less.) That's why I'm surprised Starbucks doesn't cut their losses and eliminate the location.

Can't the Starbucks workers get the word out to the truck driver unions not to make deliveries 24/7 even during hours the picketers aren't physically present?
The Teamsters contract probably doesn't allow it
I'd guess there's a clause that lets them refuse to cross an active picket line, but only if strikers are present
