Out of towner learns Boston police can so tell him what to do; local learns cops not impressed he's a Democrat

BPDNews reports that when an officer ordered Joseph Dembowski of North Billerica to stop for pedestrians at Beacon and Charles streets shortly after the end of First Night fireworks, he refused because he didn't have time for such nonsense. Officers then transported him to a place where he'd have plenty of time.
Police also report that William Audy of West Roxbury got some similar free thinking time later in the evening when officers decided his contributions to John Kerry and the Democratic National Committee were not enough to make them disregard his traffic infractions (thanks to MattS in the comments below for looking that up).
