They probably won't be visiting the Tea Party Museum or the Samuel Whittemore memorial, though. But like one of their grandparents, they will be greeted at Boston City Hall before riding off to Somerville (in a limo, no doubt, rather than the Green Line Extension) to visit the home of dozens of climate tech startups.

You don't get to have 36 staties in a motorcade and collective overtime sitting there with their SUVs idling while the Brits are inside taking the tour

Though he did not visit City Hall. His main brief was to commemorate Harvard's 350th anniversary. I remember because this coincided with my own first visit to Boston (I also did not visit City Hall).

Will they also be visiting the Somerville Market Basket next door to Greentown, to pick up something for dinner?

It would be more entertaining to see them take a Charles river tour in a double-decker bus.

Mayor Wu really is, that she would use public resources to host a couple of agents of the monarchy who are the antipathy of merit, equality, or progress. Not cool, Mayor.

but there's no denying that they are influential representatives of their government. Really, it's not much different than hosting a foreign ambassador or business leader, which are things that mayors do all the time.

Yeah, it will cost some money and slow some traffic, but I think it's great that our beautiful city gets to host these international dignitaries on a very worthwhile philanthropic visit. Also cool that President Biden will be here too, shortly after he spent his holidays elsewhere in our beautiful commonwealth. Proving once again the Spirit of Massachusetts is the Spirit of America!
